Job Description
We are looking for a committed and proactive Technician to join our Laboratory Support and Sample Management Team within Sport and Specialised Analytical Services (SSAS). This is an exciting opportunity to fulfil a hybrid role, working across both the Laboratory Support and Sample Management areas.
Key responsibilities:
- Receive samples, perform integrity checks and complete all necessary documentation;
- Log samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), managing storage and disposals;
- Laboratory equipment maintenance and associated record keeping;
- Reagent preparation and glass washing;
- Pipette calibrations, maintenance and management;
- Conduct analytical work using appropriate techniques and in accordance with regulatory standards, e.g. ISO 17025;
- Act in compliance with the site Health & Safety Policy;
- Maintain a clean, tidy and well-equipped work area, observing any operational regulations.

Qualifications
- Educated to GCSE level, acquiring 5 GCSE’s graded A-C (or 9-4).
- Experience in a regulated laboratory environment is advantageous.
- Sound computer skills, experience of Microsoft Office.
