Job Description
Sopra Banking Software has an exciting new challenge for a Technical Delivery Manager to join our Cloud Operations team.
The Technical Delivery Manager is responsible for planning and monitoring the delivery of technical build phases across a large client base, and for internal Cloud Operations projects.
Working with Technical teams across several business functions and geographical locations to deliver technical work packages to enable successful technical project and service delivery.
You will be a fast learner and contributing to the creation of a technology landscape that will enable teams to build, deploy and maintain solutions at pace and with maximum stakeholder engagement. The Technical Delivery Manager will gain a thorough understanding of the Sopra software technology stack from all technical colleagues and work directly with the client IT and Architecture teams on implementation projects ensuring smooth delivery and deployment of all software.
The technology landscape includes Oracle Database, Unix, Linux and Windows systems, APIs and API Gateways, Oracle Forms and JEE Application Servers. Projects involve implementation of these technologies as well as Extract Transform Load (ETL) using PL/SQL and creating software defined infrastructure through TerraForm, Ansible and shell script.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver software changes, infrastructure upgrades and new systems
- Lead technical planning workshops with Architecture and Technical Delivery Component Teams
- Deliver Technical Build Estimates for new business opportunities and existing Customer migrations & technical scope change within active projects
- Lead technology change covering System installation, configuration and tuning, Operating Systems, databases, Web/App Servers, API Gateways, hosting platforms and networks
- Oversee delivery of software-defined infrastructure (infrastructure-as-code)
- Business Continuity, backup and restore processes
- Oversee implementation of security measures such as encryption at rest and Transport Layer Security
- Oversee implementation of Infrastructure and Application service availability & performance monitoring systems
- Document, Manage & Coordinate Technical RAIDs within projects
- Manage engagement with Technical Delivery Teams via Work Packages and associated effort estimates
- Provide reporting to key stakeholders in relation to the portfolio of work that has been assigned
Qualifications

- Leadership experience
- Technology background
- Project management skills and experience
- Ability to quickly gather and understand requirements and scope, and implement technical designs/solutions
- Stakeholder management skills, very comfortable engaging clients at several levels from technical to senior management
- Ability to communicate to support a single end-to-end delivery goal and co-ordinate between technology teams
- Ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously, each at different lifecycle stages
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of DevOps, agile development, and operations support processes

Salary range for this role is circa £60,000 to £65,000 per annum depending on skills and experience.
