Job Description

The Persistence Manager reports to the Director of College and Persistence  and supports all students enrolled in 2 or 4 year institutions through their first three semesters. They work in concert with stipended persistence advisors to remove barriers to continued enrollment.  The Lead’s responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Core Responsibilities:

  • Leading goal setting for the postsecondary persistence team.

  • Managing postsecondary budget, including Emergency Funding.

  • Serve as a liaison to KIPP Foundation for postsecondary programming. 

  • Creating annual Postsecondary Advisor caseloads.

  • Support with College Partnership Strategy, in partnership with Director of Post-Secondary Success

  • Run data deep dives at the end of each benchmark cycle to support development of interventions and programming.

  • Manage four to five stipended roles, including bi-weekly 1:1 meetings for each team member and semi-annual reviews in December and June.

  • Assist students with FAFSA renewals from October through March and with loan counseling completion when necessary, as well as provide FAFSA renewal support via designated workshop times for our older alumni as part of our broader programmatic support for all alumni.

  • Plan and lead monthly Postsecondary Success Team Communities of Practice

  • Manage a caseload of up to 50 college students providing advising services focused on postsecondary persistence and completion.

  • Track and maintain student and regional data (contact information, grades, financial aid, internships, etc.) using the Alumni Database, as well as supporting the progress monitoring of all work stream goals quarterly via team scorecard and trackers.

  • Attend and participate in all KIPP Forward team meetings, KIPP Forward Leadership team meetings and Regional Support Office team meetings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required

  • Preferred 4+ years of experience in education.

  • Strong computer literacy, communication and interpersonal skills are highly preferred.

  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects at once.

  • Must be able to sit and work at a desk/computer for extended periods of time

  • Must be able to spend the majority of the day standing or mobile throughout a school or office, as well as talk, hear, grasp, reach and lift up to 30lbs with or without accommodations

  • Ability to concentrate in active and noisy environments such as schools, to more moderate situations such large group professional settings

  • Must be able to have repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement to work on computer and/or related office equipment

  • Ability to handle potential high stress conditions
