Join AECOM's 2024 Graduate Program!

Are you ready to launch your career in electrical engineering with a global leader in infrastructure solutions? Join us at AECOM as a Graduate Engineer - Electrical and become part of our Utilities team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects involving the design of power and extra low voltage networks, substations, street lighting, and more.

Role Overview

As a Graduate Engineer - Electrical joining the Civil + Infrastructure team, you will collaborate with experienced engineers to develop designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, and project models tailored to specific discipline requirements. The work will cover security systems, telecom, Intelligent traffic systems, traffic control systems, GSM, smart technologies for smart cities etc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, and project models for the smart technology design within the field of civil infrastructure.
  • Works on drawings under the supervision of an experienced Engineer.
  • Assists with the design content by applying both design and technical knowledge to ensure high-quality outputs under project timelines.
  • Under Supervision, performs work following the agreed-upon budget and schedule.
  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving fundamental engineering problems.
  • Coordinates with other discipline Engineers as applicable for the continuity of the design process.
  • Participates in design progress and coordination meetings.
  • Actively seeks information, opportunities to participate and contribute, and develops efficiencies and effectiveness.
  • Contributes by solving problems and applying experience or theoretical knowledge to atypical assignments.
  • Participates in the utilities digital working group and implementation of digital tools within the design process.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Communication Engineering or equivalent from an accredited University.
  • Candidates must be recent graduates, having graduated within the last 24 months or no later than September 2024, to be eligible for AECOM's Graduate Program.
  • Successful applicants must have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.3 or 2:1 (or equivalent) and above.
  • If you hold a Master’s Degree, it should have started within 12 months of completing your Bachelor’s Degree to ensure continuous education and meet program requirements.
  • Candidates with more than 1 year of postgraduate work experience are not eligible for the program and are encouraged to apply for our professional-level roles instead.

Recruitment Timeline:

  • Applications open: May 13th, 2024
  • Applications close: May 31st, 2024
  • Review of CVs, phone screening, and technical interviews: June and July 2024
  • Mobilization & visa processing: August 2024
  • Start Date: September / October 2024
  • Program Orientation: November 2024 (This includes an induction and meet-and-greet for the entire graduate cohort from all our offices in the ME).
