Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Hydraulic Structures Intern to be based in Oakland, California.
This position is expected to begin in Summer 2024.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.
- Assist with and potentially research for RFIs and submittals with peers, supervisors, clients, and contractors.
- Analyze and model structures using hand calculations and an array of computer software including, but not limited to:
- Microsoft Office
- CAD or AutoCAD software
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Civil Engineering with the intent to continue after the internship, unless graduating.
- Candidates must have completed three years of study in their program.
- Due to the nature of work, US citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree focus on civil engineering.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Basic knowledge of CADD and industry-standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, and structural modeling).
- Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Completion of introductory coursework related to reinforced concrete design and steel design by the start of this internship.
