Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Structural Specialist to be based in London, Ontario.

You will work in a team environment to deliver a variety of projects to our client base in London and Southwestern Ontario.  For someone with an interest in a variety of structural engineering projects including bridges, marine structures, dams and water treatment structures, this is an exceptional opportunity to bring your capability to the team and advance your career.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
  • Prepare engineering related analysis and design calculations
  • Prepare and review of contract specifications including cost estimates and quantities.
  • Undertake inspection of structures within the framework of a prescribed methodology.
  • Provide inspection and monitor a contractor’s performance in construction, including construction quantities for payment, attendance at site meetings and maintenance of field notes.
  • Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.

 

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering + 2 years of experience in a structural engineering role on heavy infrastructure or bridge projects .

    Preferred Qualifications

    • EIT 
    • Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
    • Knowledge of industry standard structural analysis software.
    • Motivated, team player, independent, organized.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
