Job Description

AECOM is looking for a Water Resources Engineer I to join our Water Resources group in Chelmsford MA.  The successful candidate will provide engineering analysis and design, as well as assistance in the data collection, statistical analysis, field programs and report writing. 

The position calls for activities and duties which will include hydrologic and hydraulic, hydrodynamic, and water quality modeling, groundwater, stormwater runoff analysis, civil design, support to water quality and environment permitting, and field sampling and investigation. 

The individual will utilize tools including GIS and CADD with a combination of understanding water quantity and quality modeling along with fluid mechanics and design The ideal candidate will work productively in a collaborative team-environment, and demonstrate growth potential, along with the desire to learn.

The job responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to:

  • Builds analytic and design skills.
  • Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Must be willing to travel for field assignments per business needs

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • 1+ years of progressive engineering and project management experience.
  • 1+ Years of related project experience in Civil design, or Geotechnical Engineering projects related to solid waste disposal, management, dams and impoundments.
  • Business Development and Client Relationship Management experience
  • Experience as a technical contributor on general civil and/or remediation projects.
  • Ability to proactively assist in technical efforts and project team staff.
  • Experience on large scale projects.
  • Experience with storage tank, manufactured gas plant, renewable energy, landfill, and/or air projects.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training certification.
  • EIT certified.
