Renewable Energy
We’re committed to playing our part in the urgent transition from carbon intensive energy sources to less centralised and more flexible energy systems. Our teams of energy professionals link up across our global network of offices to provide solutions, designs, and support to clients in multiple technical and deployment areas such as: on and off-shore wind power, solar power, hydropower, carbon capture, alternative fuels, hydrogen and, crucially, energy demand assessment and carbon reduction. Job Description
What your new role will entail:
Your will be to produce, review and check project deliverables so that they contain the necessary level of detail as required for:
- Pre-feasibility
- Concept design
- Tender
- Estimation
- Detailed design / construction.
You will provide full CAD support and instruction to all engineers and modellers creating workflows, methods and procedures where necessary.
You will work independently using an already established understanding of civil engineering and best practices and be able to provide meaningful input to the design process.
Work in conjunction with engineers of multiple disciplines as part of the iterative design process.
Key Technical Skills:
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil3D
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience in producing construction details / technical drawings.
Key Leadership/People Management Skills:
- Ability to work collaboratively and iteratively within a design team of varied experience.
- Provide and receive candid and constructive feedback with team members.
- Liaise with internal and external design teams.
Key Mental / Analytical Skills and Challenges:
- Using the correct level of detail to suit / present the deliverables intent.
- Understand where value can be added to the design in contrast to producing diminishing returns.
- Ability to produce design outputs from engineering sketches, written, and verbal instruction.
Major Tasks and Activities:
- Carry out earthwork design and analysis primarily with tracks / roads / intersections / laydown construction areas, volumes analysis and drainage.
- Process, annotate, and present design data as project deliverables.
- Document Control.
Additional Key Activities:
- Operate CAD software for internal and external meetings and Presentations.
- Process CAD data for use with other software platforms.
- Adhere to client and AECOM CAD standards during all CAD activities.
Outputs/Deliverables:
- Dynamic 3D models using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Design drafting deliverables using AutoCAD.
- Presentation material for project bids and design reviews.
Here’s what we will need from you:
- Experience within civil engineering industries, such as land development, transport (roads), construction, water (dams, spoil, and hydrology), waste (landfill), mining, and surveying.
- Proficient user of AutoCAD Civil 3D within a live project environment
Qualifications
- HNC / HND, BSc, BEng, MSc, MEng: in an engineering or CAD related subject (with civil engineering preferred, though not essential)
