Job Description
We are currently looking for a CAD Engineer to join us and help deliver a project in the West Midlands.
A CAD Engineer will create electronic design plans for a range of PTC Creo software. CAD Technicians work together with professional Drafts People to turn blueprints and technical drawings into 2D and 3D computer models. A CAD Engineer will generate engineering technical drawings for the product manufacture.
The day-to-day responsibilities may include:
Meeting with Engineers, Drafts People, and Designers to review blueprints and design drawings.
Inputting design specifications into the CAD software.
Creating surface and solid CAD models according to client specifications.
Working with a design team and individually on CAD projects.
Reviewing CAD models with the client and making minor adjustments.
Conducing final model rendering and delivering the final product.
Completing job reports.
Revising and updating CAD drawings as required.
Developing working drawings from sketches or descriptions developed by Engineers.
Working closely with other Designers and Engineers to ensure a coordinated design.
Developing both 2D and 3D models.
Assisting in team design reviews, in order to evaluate design concepts and make recommendations.
Establishing and implement a CAD standard drawing database.
Creating prototypes for CAD models.
Developing alternative design solutions or quick engineering solutions for complex problems.
Qualifications
Engineering degree or equivalent qualification (not essential if the experience is substantial).
Ability to make decisions based on designs.
Ability to collaborate with others to solve problems.
Firm grasp of mathematics, engineering, and industry information.
Experience in 3D CAD (Creo, Autodesk, Solidworks, Revit) .
Beneficial background from HVAC, building services, civil / structure .
Can-do attitude.
Strong communication skills.
Additional Information
18-24 months fixed-term contract
Location: West Midlands
Some travel may be required
Salary/rate will depend of experience
