Job Description
SQLI UK is seeking a talented and passionate Product (UX & UI) Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping digital products from research and discovery through to execution. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on diverse projects, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional user experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Research and Discovery:
Conduct user research to understand user needs, behaviours, and pain points.
Utilise various research methodologies, including surveys, interviews, and usability testing, to gather actionable insights.
Analyse data and user feedback to inform design decisions and product strategy.
UX Design:
Develop user personas, user journeys, friction maps, and wireframes to visualise and communicate design concepts.
Create prototypes to test and iterate on product designs effectively.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment between business goals and user needs.
UI Design:
Design visually appealing and intuitive user interfaces that enhance usability and accessibility.
Create high-fidelity mockups and design assets using industry-standard tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, or Figma.
Maintain design consistency and adhere to brand guidelines across all digital platforms.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and marketers, to deliver cohesive solutions.
Communicate design concepts and rationale effectively, both verbally and visually, to stakeholders at all levels.
Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
Continuous Learning and Improvement:
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in UX/UI design.
Share knowledge and insights with the team to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Seek feedback from peers and actively participate in professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field.
Proven experience (3+ years) in UX/UI design for digital products, with a strong portfolio showcasing relevant work.
Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, or equivalent.
Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in an agency or consultancy environment.
Knowledge of front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and their impact on design.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Experience conducting accessibility audits and implementing accessible design practices.
