The Tax Operations team works closely with our clients, agencies, and internal teams such as onboarding, customer care, and banking. Our primary focus is ensuring compliance with payroll tax filing and deposits for our clients.
The Tax Operations Specialist will be responsible for contributing to the day-to-day success of the Tax Operations team. This individual will be responsible for the completion of tasks related to maintaining client tax profiles and ensuring a smooth client experience. In addition, the Tax Operations Specialist will serve as a key contributor to larger team and organizational initiatives to drive improvement and efficiency as we continue to grow.
About this roll*:
- Research and complete payroll corrections
- Processes and submits amended returns on behalf of clients
- Completes daily and monthly tax filings and payments
- Knowledge of payroll taxes including federal, state, local and paid family leave
- Perform routine payroll tax profile audits of existing clients to ensure accuracy
- Obtain accurate tax jurisdiction account information to ensure timely filing and payment of payroll tax obligations
- Collaborate with clients to provide missing information and complete Third-Party Agent (TPA) setup
- Maintain individual performance to meet established team goals and OKRs
- Participate in special projects and/or other duties assigned
Do you have the right ingredients*?
- Prior experience working with amendments, filings and jurisdictions is required
- 1+ years experience working in a payroll service bureau experience and knowledge of payroll taxes including federal, state, local and paid family leave
- Must be able to make occasional trips to the post office local to you
- Success operating independently and navigating competing priorities in a constantly changing environment
- Strong critical problem solving, communication with internal and external stakeholders, organizational skills
- Experience working with sensitive/confidential information
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Suite (Vlookups, formulas, etc.)

- FPC or CPP certification
