Job Description
The responsibility of the Civil Engineer is to provide resolutions on transverse or complex civil related topics, liaising with experts when needed. They will directly manage work assignments from and report to the Civil Team Lead.
- Receive, analyse and verify the consistency of the input data
- Report to the corresponding building civil lead
- Support management of design changes and load management
- Produce the deliverables for which they are responsible (assumption notes, technical specifications, calculation notes).
- Coordinate the work of CAD Designer in conjunction with the Design Office Manager.
- Perform design activities for fastenings in concrete.
- Perform technical verifications of civil engineering documents for their building.
- Create and maintain and responsible for the Design Risk Register
Qualifications
- Masters degree in Civil Engineering
- IEng / CEng MICE certified or working towards it
- Strong technical background in civil and structural engineering, in particular, reinforced concrete design.
- Experience in the nuclear sector and plant layout engineering would be advantageous
- Knowledge/understanding of the Eurocodes related to civil engineering and especially knowledge of the design of fastenings in concrete.
- Knowledge of the design of reinforced concrete and pre-stressed concrete structures.
- Knows how to deal with the design and layout constraints
- Ability to check and review other's work, advice and mentor junior members of the team.
- Problem solver, proactive, good communication and organisation skills, pragmatic, rigor
- Required software skills: Microsoft Word/Excel, Navisworks, Mathcad, Verifplantine
Additional Information
Due to the nature of work to be undertaken applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.
