Our Brand and Content team are the central hub of how Trainline presents itself distinctively in every aspect – from product proposition to personality - to customers all over the globe, exciting them based on their desires and needs at the cultural moments that matter.
Our multi award-winning team consist of 30+ passionate, multi-national experts from across brand, copy, design, insights and content specialisms. We are bolstering our in-house creative muscle in the UK to super-charge us for some epic few years ahead for the brand, and we require a strong, purpose-driven Creative Lead to work hand-in-hand with our Senior UK Copywriter to deliver outstanding home-grown buzz-worthy creative ideas that are firmly on the cultural code.
As our Creative Lead your role will involve working independently and as a creative duo to generate and pitch fresh ideas to activate our UK brand, funnelled through 2 x brand platforms: Great Journeys start with Trainline and I came by train. Successful ideas will activate in product and through brand and day-to-day social initiatives. You will inspire teams of creatives in concept development, ensuring seamless translation of creative ideas that will hit different with target customer audiences.
Role responsibilities
As a client to the Senior Brand Manager, work with the Senior Marketing Content Manager to deliver outstanding creative solutions for how our big advertising ideas developed with our creative and social media agencies can live beyond big bill media to engage target customers through funnel.
Work with our Organic Social Media Manager to generate a steady stream of fast-paced buzz-worthy content ideas that sit underneath our social pillars for impactful social-first content that will drive engagement, brand love and consideration aligned with the UK and sustainability brand strategies.
Collaborate closely with our creative studio to creatively lead the transformation of fast-paced social posts into usable assets, and - where required – produce asset creation in-house, from still / low-fi scripting and live action to content cuts and basic design if fast-paced seeding is required.
Working with the Organic Social Media Manager, proactively identify relevant social and market trends we can jump on to maximise (organic) reach and engagement.
Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment when it comes to raising the bar and hitting commercial goals through ambitious creativity.
Lead brainstorming sessions to invigorate commercial projects and teams with creative-first thinking that will contribute to our OKR’s.
Work with the company key org themes to translate new Trainline product propositions into creative concepts that will drive buzz and exceed customers’ expectations
Explore engaging ways to land new brand campaigns to internal stakeholders to build excitement, pride and buy-in.
Contribute to simplifying and elevating our new starter on-boarding content and brand book, to inspire a tribe of engaged brand ambassadors across the business and with our external partners.
Collaborate closely with the Creative Studio on developing how our new brand identity lands with customers mid to long term.

5+ years in a creative direction role, experience at a creative agency preferred
You will be a compelling storyteller, engaging audiences with your vision and ideas
Experienced in simple low-fi social first production, concepting and design
An excellent communicator and collaborator, with good organisational skills to ensure you meet deadlines
Capable of dealing with fast-paced multi-functional teams
A personal passion for making a positive impact on the climate crisis
A great eye for detail and accuracy
An out-of-the-box and brave thinker, we want to see innovation and newness to achieve the cut-through we need to deliver exponential growth
A deep understanding of the business context and market and cultural influence on creativity
Ability to build and foster strong internal and external relationships.
Experience with Figma and Adobe's Creative Cloud necessary
Confidence on Miro a plus
