Job Title: Director, Employee & Marketing Communications

About the Role:
Unite Us is looking for a versatile Director, Employee & Marketing Communications to support both our external marketing efforts and drive internal communications strategies. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling, strong writing skills, and the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
The role will be responsible for strategic planning and execution of companywide communications and knowledge-sharing programs with the goal of increasing employee engagement across all internal communications channels (Intranet, Slack, Email, All Hands Meetings, etc). By partnering with senior executives and functional leaders across all areas of the business, the person will shape and deliver critical corporate messaging that supports employer brand efforts to retain and engage current employees.
As a key member of the marketing communications team, this role will be responsible for developing and executing an internal communications strategy that educates employees about market-facing initiatives to create excitement and advocacy for the brand. Plus, they will support marketing and customer communications by crafting compelling messaging that resonates with our target audiences for newsletters, the website, social media, etc.
Candidates should be collaborative, adaptable, and able to work independently with cross-functional teams and senior leadership. They demonstrate strong leadership capabilities and have experience managing internal communication platforms and employee engagement initiatives. Additionally, they have a keen understanding of employer branding and can effectively manage external communication channels to attract and engage potential employees.
What You’ll Do:
- Internal Marketing Communications Strategy: In partnership with the Sr. Director Brand & Communications and the SVP of Marketing, design and execute a comprehensive internal communications strategy for market-facing activities that aligns with the organization's goals, values, and culture. For example, partner with Product Marketing to help educate internal stakeholders about upcoming developments.
- Marketing Content Creation: Work collaboratively with the Marketing and Communications team to develop market-facing content and materials, including strategic messaging, customer-facing channels, digital, and social media.
- Internal Communications: Oversee all internal programs and channels (All Team Meetings, email and Slack announcements, the Intranet, and presentations.) that equip employees with the information, resources, and excitement they need to fuel excellence and pride in their jobs. Ensure content is informative, relevant, and inspiring to employees. For example, translate key leadership messages into sharable content for all employees to consume.
- External Brand Management: Develop and manage strategies to enhance the organization's external employer brand. Craft compelling messaging and content to attract and engage potential employees through various channels, including our blog, and social media. For example, partner with the social media team to bring weekly culture posts to life.
- Employee Engagement Initiatives: In partnership with the People Team, develop and coordinate initiatives to enhance employee engagement, morale, and satisfaction. This may include organizing events, recognition programs, and surveys to gather feedback.
- Leadership Communication Support: Provide guidance and support to senior leadership in crafting effective communication messages for internal audiences. Assist in preparing leaders for internal presentations and all team meetings.
- Measurement and Analysis: Establish metrics to measure the effectiveness of internal communication efforts. Analyze data and feedback to continuously improve communication strategies and tactics.
- Change Management Communication: Collaborate with various departments and teams to support organizational change initiatives by developing communication plans and content to effectively communicate changes, address concerns, and maintain employee morale and engagement.
- Support experiential activities: Test new initiatives as the Internal Communications function continues to expand.
You’re a great fit for this role if:
- 8+ years experience in communications, with experience driving internal initiatives and working closely with C-Suite executives
- Strong writing and editing abilities
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
- Creativity and a willingness to develop new ideas
- Excellent organizational skills–you can track multiple projects at once
- Ability and eagerness to work cross-functionally with other teams
- Flexibility and the ability to pivot quickly
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership

Environmental Job Requirements and Working Conditions:
- This position is remote, U.S. based
- The target pay range for this role is: $140,000-$160,000 This salary range represents our target hiring range for this role. The proposed salary will be dependent on the candidate's skills, experience, and competencies, as well as location
- All team members will be required to pass a background check which includes criminal, employment, and education verification
