Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Technical Motor Underwriter to join our Underwriting team on a permanent basis
You will develop and enhance our core motor products, whilst delivering changes that maintain our products' compliance. We’d love you to have a good understanding of the marketplace and the future direction of motor products as you will have input into our customer centric, science-based approach to building market leading solutions.
What you'll do:
- Build and maintain core motor products that deliver customer value and are aligned with various legislation/regulation.
- Use your industry, regulatory and technical knowledge to drive profit, efficiency and customer outcomes to improve esure’s competitive edge.
- Support our excess of loss motor reinsurance programme, preparing data and presentations to the reinsurance broker and reinsurers, monitoring large loss performance and handling treaty renewal negotiations.
- Develop, deploy and test the efficiency of motor underwriting rules through the use of internal software.
- Development of core motor policy wordings, ensuring appropriate coverage is given to customers whilst mitigating volatility and potential unknown risks.
- Build and maintain the AIP product structures, including delivery of all changes required to ensure product structures remain compliant.
Qualifications
What are we looking for?:
- Underwriting experience with a passion for keeping up to date with trends and patterns on the marketplace
- Motor insurance experience and knowledge is highly advantageous; however we would also consider other product experience and knowledge
- Extensive Insurance industry or financial services industry experience
- A focus on results with the drive and energy to deliver.
- Experience of building products and propositions to drive customer appeal and loyalty.
- Experience of using multiple data connections to enable sophisticated risk selection
- Knowledge of the digital, direct telephone, online and aggregation distribution channels and their separate customer and risk profiles.
- Someone who is willing to make courageous recommendations which will have a positive impact on our businesses success.
