We are seeking an experienced communications specialist to join our team as an Associate Director of PR & Communications. This position is a fixed-term maternity leave contract, starting in May 2024.
Our ideal candidate has experience and a proven track record in developing and executing sustainable communications strategies and campaigns for B2B brands, preferably in professional services sectors. They should have demonstrable expertise in strategic media relations, campaign management and building stakeholder relationships.
The role will support several business teams within Colliers, advising on proactive communications strategies to position our experts as thought leaders in commercial property, while supporting our overarching departmental objectives to build the Colliers’ brand, engage clients, and generate leads. The role has some line management responsibility, and the candidate should present the necessary leadership skills to become an effective role model and best practice advocate for the wider Marcoms department.
Job Description
Develop and implement strategic communication plans to enhance Colliers’ visibility and reputation amongst existing and prospect clients.
Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses that align with Colliers’ values and desired positioning.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, industry influencers and stakeholders to secure positive coverage and maximise opportunities for effective brand positioning and lead generation.
Collaborate with business lines and the wider Marcomms department to identify and leverage opportunities for thought leadership, press coverage and speaking engagements.
Provide strategic guidance to support and mitigate any potential reputational risk and crisis communications.
Monitor industry trends, competitor activities and market developments to proactively identify communication opportunities and challenges.
Work in close collaboration with the wider Marketing and Communications team to ensure an integrated approach to all PR & marketing campaigns.
Monitor the use of the company’s brand and be a brand advocate both internally and externally.
Take a content-led approach to communications, leveraging all research, blogs, PR and podcasts to ensure your business teams are getting maximum exposure and brand engagement.
Qualifications
As well as being extremely driven with a desire to develop your skills, grow your network and develop a career at Colliers, the ideal candidate will have the following:
Must have proven experience in public relations for professional services brand, preferably in commercial property sector.
Demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategic communications plans and PR campaigns that drive positive results.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to tailor messages for various audiences and platforms.
Strong professional, interpersonal communication skills, with an ability to effectively articulate ideas and concepts to stakeholders.
Crisis communications experience and the ability to navigate challenging situations with professionalism and poise.
Detail-oriented individual who reviews their work carefully and with excellent proof-reading skills.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently, manage their own time effectively, with an ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
A team player who enjoys creative collaboration and communication with a team.
Previous experience in managing and mentoring junior team members is a plus.
Proficient using the Microsoft Office suite.
A positive, can-do attitude.
