Job Title: Molecular Biology Laboratory Assistant
Job Type: Permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: £19,000- £23,000

We have an excellent opportunity for a Laboratory Assistant to join our global organisation as part of our expanding Molecular Bioanalytical team.
The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for assisting the departmental and laboratory managers in ensuring that all Molecular Biology laboratories comply with the relevant cleaning, housekeeping, and general procedures as well as ensuring that all areas are adequately resourced with respect to materials, reagents and consumables.
Key Accountabilities
Perform laboratory checks in a timely manner and to a high standard, and in accordance with all relevant procedures and SOPs.
To ensure that labs are well-stocked, clean, and fit for purpose.
Perform freezer defrosts and fridge cleans as appropriate.
To check stock levels and to provide feedback on any information regarding reagents that are running low or due to expire.
Assisting with expiry extensions by re-labeling lab reagents
Assisting with new SOP issuances when new revisions become effective and ensuring that they are read and understood in a timely manner.
At all times, adopting a safe behaviour by exercising due regard for the health and safety of yourself, colleagues and clients, in line with the Company’s policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or a related field.
Enthusiasm for molecular biology research and eagerness to learn new techniques and methodologies.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to following experimental protocols accurately.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Prior laboratory experience or coursework in molecular biology is desirable but not required.
Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
