Job Description

  • Job Title: Senior Measurement Consultant

Main Purpose of Role

  • Responsible for the provision of the highest standards of measurement and allocation consultancy services, promoting the growth of SGS business through increased market share both locally and in international markets.
  • Lead, direct, and monitor project teams to ensure consultancy engagements are complete on time, on budget, and that company and client quality objectives are satisfied.
  • Mentor and assist junior members of staff to support staff development objectives.             

Key Accountabilities

  • Maintain and develop knowledge and understanding of current measurement technologies, standards, and legislation to ensure consistently high standards of technical consultancy are achieved.
  • Deliver, support and lead consultancy projects and assignments to drive business and achieve timely and effective delivery of services against agreed budgets and timescales.
  • Resolution of client enquiries and engineering issues in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction and quality of service is met and maintained, and to promote repeat and bolt-on business.
  • Identify and implement improvements to current department operations in order to ensure technical standards and quality controls are maintained and improved.
  • Provide commercial support to the department including input to tender compilation and project/contract co-ordination.
  • Maintain organised and auditable systems of work in line with company QA procedures
  • Assist line manager in operation, development and growth of Projects & Consultancy Department to enable maximum revenue and profitability.
  • Assist line manager in identifying opportunities for business growth and development to increase client base in both domestic and overseas marketplace.

Qualifications

How to be a successful candidate:

Essential

  • Experience of working in a multi disciplined, operational engineering environment where core competencies and skills are routinely required and utilised.
  • Must be able to interface with internal and external clients and provide detailed technical reports and feedback.
  • Must be able to demonstrate effective communication and supervisory experience in an operational environment.
  • Must have experience of preparing detailed procedures and documentation.
  • Extensive experience in Oil & Gas operations encompassing measurement and instrumentation.
  • Experience of planning, co-ordinating and project management.
  • Full UK Current driving licence.
  • Degree or equivalent in Engineering or related science based subject.

Desirable

  • EUETS (European Union Emission Trading Scheme) measurement experience.
  • Knowledge of auditing procedures and techniques
  • Commercial experience including but not limited to client interface, budgets, contract compliance and client development.
  • Post Graduate Diploma or equivalent in Engineering or related science based subject.
  • Formal qualification in Auditing.
