We’re looking for a wine lover to help us deliver excellent customer service across our retail outlets and to assist with our exciting events (from Fine Wine tastings to Fried Chicken & Champagne Evenings) and to help grow our online sales.
A little about us
First and foremost we are a wine merchant aiming to offer an excellent selection of wines to suit all tastes. We offer wines from all over the world with a range of budgets in mind, each handpicked. We’re not focused on “natural wines” as is the current trend (though we’re happy to stock a few great ones). Our shop is set up more like a living room than traditional retail and we like to keep things casual and approachable. We are as independent as it’s possible to be. Owned by a wine lover and focused on delivering the best wine-related experiences we can. Both our shops feature a tasting room where we host regular events, WSET courses and use as space to offer drink-ins.
After a successful launch in October 2021 and... opening a new store in Sept 2023 we’re looking for someone to help us grow whilst offering the best service possible to our customers.
This role will be predominantly based in our Warren Street shop/bar.
What we’d like you to do
We’re looking for a sales assistant to offer our shop customers the best advice and serve those drinking in our bar area. You’ll need to be available for evening and weekend shifts - we close at 9pm in the week and 10pm on Fri & Sat. We have a number of roles available with different hours per week so we have some flexibility. Your flexibility is also highly valued as we have differing needs each week.
What experience you need
The most important thing is that you’re genuinely interested in wine. We value formal training but also appreciate the self-taught. Of course, experience in wine retail, WSET qualifications, holidays to vineyards or a comprehensive knowledge of German riesling (for example).
When we’d like you to do it
1 role approximately three / four days a week one role approximately two shifts per week. Shifts agreed 1 month in advance but with a focus on when we're busiest Wed - Sat. The role will focus on our Warren St store but will also include shifts in our Islington store - particularly when we have events etc.
