The role will be accountable to support the operational activities of the UK and Ireland Medical Affairs team, focusing on Medical Information enquiry management and processes, with additional support in the areas of Medical Governance, Patient Support Programs and other continuous improvement efforts.
This individual will work closely with the Head of Medical Affairs and the Medical Information & Operations Manager to deliver against our Medical Information responsibilities and associated governance. There will also be opportunity to support additional key medical projects that are part of the local tactical plans led by the relevant members of the Medical Team (e.g. patient support programs, medical education webinars, advisory boards).
This role will provide the individual with the scope and opportunity to interface with and build understanding of relevant business functions within the pharmaceutical industry, such as marketing, market access, clinical research, standards and governance and regulatory affairs.
Responsibilities:
a. Activities:
Become familiar with the ABPI Code of Practice for the Pharmaceutical Industry, and develop understanding of its applicability to the role of Medical Affairs activity.
Learning best approach to review of UK medical materials
Understanding appropriate activity within the ABPI Code of Practice
Provide operational support to the Medical Information & Operations Manager through:
Completing training against all relevant systems and processes
Building product knowledge
Medical Information Enquiry management
Development of Standard Response Letters in fulfillment of enquiries from healthcare professionals
Management of Standard Response Letters through Veeva Vault review and approval system
Medical Information reporting
Support and documentation to enable continuous improvement of the Medical Function by leveraging Biogen systems and processes, such as:
Expert Stakeholder Engagement
Cross-border activity
Materials management (“job bags”)
As needed based on the current business requirement:
Support job bag creation and management using Veeva Vault
Support Cross Border engagements in collaboration with the cross-functional affiliate team
Internal/External Medical affairs meeting & logistics support
Congress activities support (planning of meetings, liaison with third party providers, briefs, etc.)
Data and document archiving

Qualifications
This is an entry level role
Background in life sciences or a related discipline is essential
Proficient computer skills with the Microsoft suite of products, primarily Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Fluent in spoken and written English
Education:
Life Sciences or related discipline
Batchelor’s degree, Masters’ Degree or PhD
