Technology Solutions & Services
- Global Support is Informa’s fifth division, with major service hubs in the United Kingdom, the United States, Hong Kong, and Singapore as well as several smaller locations. Global Support colleagues provide shared, efficient business services and function-specific expertise to each of Informa’s operating divisions, enabling our commercial teams to focus on their markets and customers.
- Technology Solutions & Services is a key function within Global Support, with responsibility for the management and evolution of the key enterprise technology disciplines that underpin day to day business operations including Strategy & Technology Change, Enterprise Architecture, Enterprise Technology, Customer Technology, Technology Operations, and Information Security.
The Technology function is embarking on a clear roadmap for the modernisation of legacy services whilst developing new platforms, solutions and techniques that transform the department into an enabler of reliable, scalable, and secure services that support Informa’s digital agenda and diverse customer landscape, through the Unifying Technology Programme. Job Description
We are dedicated to helping businesses harness the power of data to drive informed decision-making. As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking a talented and motivated Power BI Developer to join our team.
The Power BI Developer within the Technology Business Performance Team, you will be responsible for developing end-to-end analytics solutions that support business intelligence, data analysis, and decision-making processes, e.g. designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI solutions to support Technology leaders develop reporting and analytics initiatives that can show the value of the Technology function within Informa. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, design data pipelines, develop analytical models and create interactive dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights into business performance. Additionally, you will leverage a variety of tools and technologies, including Power BI, SQL, and data visualization techniques, to create innovative analytics solutions.
Key Areas of Responsibility/Accountability
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather and analyse business requirements, identify data sources, and define key performance indicators (KPIs) for analytics solutions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyse business requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and design scalable data models.
- Design, develop, and implement end-to-end data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into analytical models and visualization tools.
- Develop and maintain data models, analytical algorithms, and machine learning models to support predictive and prescriptive analytics use cases.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate analytics solutions into business processes, applications, and decision-making workflows.
- Design, develop, and deploy interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools such as Power BI, or custom-built solutions.
- Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into Power BI
- Develop complex calculations, measures, and KPIs (e.g. using DAX) to derive meaningful insights from raw data.
- Design intuitive, user-friendly dashboards and reports with interactive features to facilitate data exploration and analysis.
- Implement best practices for data visualization, including selecting appropriate chart types, colors, and layouts to effectively communicate insights.
- Conduct performance tuning and optimization of Power BI reports to ensure speed, efficiency, and usability.
- Provide technical expertise and support to end-users, including troubleshooting issues, conducting training sessions, and promoting self-service analytics.
- Stay informed about industry trends, new features, and best practices in Power BI and data visualization techniques.

- Develop and deploy interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights..

- Enable stakeholders to make data-driven decisions by delivering intuitive, user-friendly data visualizations and analytics solutions.
- Improve operational efficiency and effectiveness through the automation of manual reporting processes and the implementation of self-service analytics capabilities.
- Enhance data quality and integrity by ensuring accurate and reliable data sources and data models.
Measures of Success
- Timely delivery of high-quality analytics solutions solutions that meet or exceed stakeholder requirements.
- Adoption and utilization of Power BI tools and analytics solutions by end-users, demonstrated by increased engagement and satisfaction.
- Continuous improvement in the performance and usability of Power BI reports, as measured by user feedback and performance metrics.
- Contribution to the achievement of business objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) through data-driven insights and analytics
Qualifications
- Ideally suitable candidates would hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related field.
- Some previous experience as a Power BI Developer or similar role, with a strong track record of designing and delivering Power BI solutions in a business environment.
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and manipulation.
- Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and experience with building complex data models in Power BI.
- Expertise in DAX formulas for creating calculated columns, measures, and advanced calculations.
- Experience with data visualization best practices and designing intuitive, user-friendly dashboards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Self-motivated and proactive attitude with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with other data visualization tools such as Tableau, QlikView, or Looker.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis and manipulation.
- Certifications in Power BI or related fields (e.g., MCSA: BI Reporting, MCSE: Data Management and Analytics).
