Job Description
This is an exciting role to help drive enterprise and operational risk management across the business with a strong focus on risks and controls, including controls assurance.
As the Manager, Risk & Controls Assurance, you will have an analyst report to you who will support you in embedding better practice risk and control management and foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
You will be responsible for designing and implementing a process for identifying and managing operational risks and controls on a regular cycle aligned with OFX’s Risk Management Framework and risk and control taxonomy.
You will lead a regular cycle risk and control self-assessment (RCSA) process and will also develop and execute a controls assurance framework with an annual plan to assess the adequacy, effectiveness, and compliance of internal controls across different business units and functions.
In line with the Central Bank of Ireland’s (CBI) Pre-Approval Controlled Functions (PCFs) for regulated financial services providers, you will function as the PCF14 – Chief Risk Officer for OFX Payments Ireland Limited subject to the CBI’s approval.
What you'll do:
- Identifying and evaluating operational risks faced by different business units and assessing their control strategies and measures in place to mitigate these risks.
- Collaborating with the leadership of OFX Payments Ireland Limited to identify and mitigate risks facing the entity
- Developing risk frameworks and policies for OFX Payments Ireland Limited
- Maintaining a risk program for OFX Payments Ireland in line with the CBI regulatory regime
- Providing value-add recommendations to business units with respect to policies and procedures, internal controls, and operational best practices.
- Supporting stakeholders in developing key risk indicators and dashboards to measure success and identify areas of opportunity.
- Working with stakeholders to maintain Operational Resilience for the Group and its subsidiaries.
- Providing expertise on incident management and assisting Incident Owners to manage incidents from identification to closure.
- Evaluating the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls to identify potential risks, control gaps and deficiencies through design and execution of a second line controls assurance process.
- Ensuring control gaps and deficiencies are appropriately documented and remediation progress tracked by the control owners and/or managers.
- Embedding internal control best practice and enhancing risk culture across the business through education and awareness.
- Supporting the Head of Risk & Assurance is preparing reports for the Executive and the Board.
- Managing OFX’s GRC system (Protecht) to ensure it supports consistent processes, record keeping, good data quality and positive risk management outcomes
Qualifications
What you bring
- 7 years + experience in a Risk Management, Internal Controls or Internal Audit related role in the financial services sector.
- Degree preferred in a relevant discipline.
- Solid understanding of risk and assurance principles and frameworks having led or supported a controls assurance program.
- Excellent knowledge of risk and controls assessment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical, problem-solving, collaboration and decision-making skills.
- Experience in working on automated controls is desired
- Familiarity with the CBI regulatory regime and APRA Prudential Standards is desired
- Experience working with Protecht or other GRC software is considered a plus
