Job Description
Protein purification (mAbs, therapeutic & reagent proteins) by various chromatography methods
Use and troubleshoot the AKTA suite of FPLC instruments, Unicorn software, Tecan liquid handler
Analytical characterization of proteins by SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, and analytical SEC
Perform high-throughput sample testing in an organized and timely manner
Quantitate proteins by UV and BCA assay
Dialyze and concentrate proteins using standard methods
Basic Laboratory management, multitasking, and experimental troubleshooting
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in scientific discipline with emphasis in biochemistry, analytical chemistry, or related disciplines with 1-3 years of hands on experience
Training and experience with protein purification techniques and instrumentation a plus (AKTA Unicorn suite, Tecan liquid handler, HPLC)
Working knowledge of and/or skills in protein characterization (SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, SEC, protein quantitation, buffer preparation)
Ability to perform basic dilution and stoichiometric calculations
Ability to think critically and relate assay results to biophysical/biochemical protein properties
Ability to work independently with ambiguity and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
Attention to detail and good oral and written communication skills required
Additional Information
Work environment: the person filling this position will work predominantly in a laboratory setting. There may be exposure to hazardous chemicals.

Position is full-time, first shift, Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM with some variation as needed.
