Job Description
Leadership Responsibilities
- This position will oversee a whole team of 22 Day 1 Chemists, while directly managing 6 Group Leaders
- Leading direct reports, group leaders and their teams, and serving clients in technical settings, such as laboratories or manufacturing facilities
- Demonstrate and promote the company vision
- Coordinate scheduling & allocation of responsibilities, and new-hire on-boarding process
- Coordinates the overtime and weekend schedule as required.
- Development of teambuilding strategies and initiatives
- Application of Lean concepts to improve operational excellence
- Monitors the day to day operations of QC analyst staff
- Coaches, mentors, and supports the group leads and monitors staff productivity
- May support group lead professional development
- Coordinating and participating with new hire interviews
Laboratory Responsibilities
- Coordinates training program
- Performs laboratory investigation reports
- Performs chemistry testing on drug substances and drug products using HPLC, pH, appearance testing, etc.
- Coordinates equipment maintenance and calibration
- Performs peer review of data
- Uses Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for sample and sample test result tracking and metric reporting
Qualifications
The Ideal Candidate would possess:
- QC Analytical experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferrably with release testing
- 4+ years of cGMP experience
- Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
- Strong leadership and teambuilding skills and initiative
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
- Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
- Experience with LIMS
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, Engineering, or other science related degree concentration, or equivalent directly-related experience
- 3+ years of previous dynamic team leadership experience
- 3+ years of laboratory experience (GMP preferred)
- Must have at least 2+ years of HPLC experience
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

- Base compensation is $38-$45 per hour based on experience.
- 2nd and 3rd shift positions will add a 10% and 15% differential to the base pay.
