Job Description
Eurofins Donor & Product Testing is looking for a Laboratory Technologist to assist with providing comprehensive laboratory services to meet the unique testing needs of the transplant community. Our clinical labs preform microbiology testing to determine microbial cleanliness, infectious disease and donor eligibility testing, as well Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) testing to successfully match organ transplant recipients with compatible donors. Technologist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Following prescribed procedures, performing any of the tests within any of the laboratory specialties, calculating the results of the tests performed as necessary.
- Operating, calibrating, conducting performance checks, and maintaining any laboratory analyzers or equipment
- Recognizing and correcting basic analyzer malfunctions; notifying management personnel when appropriate
- Preparing reagents or media from a prescribed procedure
- Evaluating media, reagents, and calibrators according to established criteria. Conducting established quality control procedures on analytical tests, equipment, reagents, media, and products; evaluating results of quality control and implements corrective action when indicated

- Determining performance specification for new methods
- Performs instrument maintenance, QC reagents and kits
- Performs routine testing including assay validations
- Contribute to process improvements
- Monitoring quality assurance & continuous improvement programs
- Monitoring safety programs in compliance with laboratory regulations
- Utilizes laboratory information systems or other methods to accurately and effectively report patient results
- Reporting test results conforming to established procedures
- Writing laboratory procedures conforming to standardized format including revising Standard Operating Procedures
- Developing performance specification for new methods
- Ability to instruct subordinate technologist in all aspects of medical laboratory testing
- Training of new employees
- Comfortable in interacting with inspectors (regulatory bodies; clients)
- Supports Eurofins DPT’s business philosophy, leadership values, and ethics

- Knowledge of the principles of chemistry, biology, and bacteriology as related to medical technology
- Some knowledge of recent developments in the field of medical technology
- Ability to perform assigned tasks according to prescribed procedures and to make accurate observations and records of tests results
- Skill in the use of medical laboratory equipment
- Microbiology experience required
- Analytical thinking and communication skills
- Advanced computer, scientific, mathematical, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
- Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
Qualifications
Minimum Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution
Basic Minimum Work Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 1-3 years of related microbiology experience
- Knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, equipment, and techniques of medical technology
- Knowledge of the principles of chemistry, biology, and bacteriology as related to medical technology
- Skill in the use of medical laboratory equipment
- Capable of data analytics
- Strong communication skills and analytical thinking
- Ability to troubleshoot
- Ability to perform assigned tasks according to prescribed procedures and to make accurate observations and records of tests results
- Must meet CLIA requirements for "High Complexity Testing"
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

- This laboratory carefully maintains all hazardous materials. All employees must abide by Eurofins DPT’s Safety and Exposure procedures. This includes using the provided safety clothing and equipment.

Additional Information
Position is full time working 2nd shift working Noon to 10:30pm, 4(10) hour day & one weekend day and Friday required, with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Centennial, Colorado are encouraged to apply.
- Compensation: $23.00/hr - $24.50/hr, plus $1.75 shift differential (based on years of relevant professional routine Microbiology experience)
