Job Description
Please note this is full time position, working 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00. There is flexibility for home based work but there will be a need to travel to sites and to Linlithgow site at least once per week.
The purpose of this post is to drive the Food Microbiology and Chemistry testing business in Scotland (Linlithgow) and the North of England. There is a high expectation on winning new business prospects as well as managing the on-boarding process to ensure retention of new business is strong.
Main duties to include:
- Grow and develop the Food Micro and Chemistry sectors by working with colleagues across the business to ensure we can offer the right testing methods and grow Eurofins’ reputation in Scotland.
- Open doors into a new industry.
- Work cohesively with the Business Unit Manager at Linlithgow to maximise sales and strategy focus.
- Work with the extended Eurofins team to help and support commercial insight.
- Fully understand each customer’s risks and opportunities by creating / adapting customer account plans.
- Fully understand the food micro and chemistry sector, trends, market analysis to allow a more structured approach to current and prospective customer base.
- To drive the commercial new sales accounts and raise the bar in terms of attention to detail, structure and the service offered to the customer base to maximise its full potential.
- To understand the value drivers of Eurofins to drive new business and identify profitable and commercial opportunities to grow revenue and market share through new products and the extension of services to current and new clients and emerging markets.
- To gather and collate all market intelligence and data covering market trends and penetration, competitors, products/services and routes to market for the food micro and chemistry businesses.
- Lead any tender opportunity that you uncover or get presented with.
- Explore and exploit new testing opportunities for Chemistry in particular, and within the Seafood/Fish Farming sector in Scotland specifically.
- Work in a collaborative manner with other divisions in Eurofins.
- To keep up to date with the range of testing offered by Eurofins, as well as current legislation and industry best practice.
- To be familiar with customer specific requirements and retailer standards.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of the food testing industry would be an advantage but is not essential.
- Proven sales and Business Development experience.
- Exceptionally well organised to be a testing consultant to the customer base.
- To have excellent excel, word and power point skills to ensure you can deliver a strong and detailed presentation to customers.
- To have the ability to think and behave strategically.
- Be an inspiring person to help lead your projects and your customer opportunities.
- Be highly motivated to grow the sales number.
- Be a strong problem solver.
- To have an understanding of the online systems and when needed assist IT in the account set-up to meet the needs of the client.
