Role Summary
The NBCUniversal Advertising and Partnerships Communications team is looking for a pro-active self-starter who is passionate about communications and is willing to roll-up their sleeves and dive into all thing's media relations, research, tracking, writing and more, supporting the company’s business goals. The Communication Coordinator, Advertising and Partnerships, serves as a key member of the team aiding the department’s day-to-day operations, ensuring that all aspects of the Communications department run smoothly.
This individual will specifically work on the External Communications vertical and will support communications responsibilities, including Event Management, Partnership Executions, Sports and Entertainment Sponsorship Communications, Awards Management, Client & Agency Communications, Research Management, and Data and Technology Product Communications. In addition, this individual will assist the team with various administrative functions and operational duties and may be involved in special projects across the group.
Responsibilities
Administrative Duties:
Support administrative needs of the Communications department (coordinate calendar, IT, supplies and facilities services, set up and produce in-person and virtual meetings, take detailed notes during key meetings, keep external press lists and internal distribution lists up to date, maintain executive bios & headshots, organize team files, assist with meeting prep, develop decks, as well as help to manage billing, invoices and expenses, and book travel as needed)
Monitor, Research, Distribute, Apply Knowledge:
Responsible for ongoing press tracking as well as the division’s daily morning clips process; monitoring major papers, trades, newsletters and online outlets as well as social platforms for relevant NBCUniversal news and industry clips and distribute to multiple audiences including NBCUniversal senior executives, the company’s various communications teams and division-wide Advertising & Partnerships employees.
Monitor and manage external and internal requests from NBCU Ads & Partnerships Communications designated inboxes.
Organize content, events and awards calendars and continue to develop and maintain these types of critical team assets over time
Regularly research and provide short summaries on timely industry news and developments for the division’s awareness
Consistently craft, update and maintain communications for the team’s Weekly Update email and distribute to members of Communications team and senior NBCUniversal executives
Synthesize research information to utilize learnings and apply it to external communication projects including speaking engagements, events and more
Project Manage from a Communications Perspective:
Serve as a key member of the Communications team, helping execute external initiatives including implementation of events (virtual and in-person), ideation of pitches, placement of stories, and manage speaking opportunities; help craft social copy to amplify comms announcements and more
Liaises with various key departments to coordinate information for corporate communications needs
Project manage with external groups such as news outlets/journalists, partners as well as internal colleagues with key communication, marketing and creative counterparts
Develop briefing materials and assist in preparing key executives on the logistics of events/interviews, run of show, participants, background information, and talking points
Qualifications/Requirements
Minimum 1 year work experience in communications, media and/or advertising preferred
Some experience working events, using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) preferred
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Salary range: $50,000-$60,000
