Do you have substantial knowledge and experience in operation, maintenance and management of a biomass fired plant? If so, you might be our new Plant Manager at our Margam site in South Wales.What will you be doing?As Plant Manager for the power plant, you will report directly to the Danish based Management of the operating company BWSC A/S and you will be coordinating with the Project Director at BWSC’s headquarters in Denmark.On site, you are responsible for the staff who will operate and maintain the plant. Furthermore, it will be your responsibility to:Ensure optimisation of production and production planningManage operations, maintenance, administration, economy, personnel matters, and local relationsCoordinate fuel reception, plans, budgets, reports and the implementation of safety and environmental guidelinesSummary of Responsibilities:To develop and gain approval for Biomass projects Business Plans that comply with company strategic objectives. Monitor their progress and... report variances and recommend corrective actions as requiredOversee the long-term performance of the asset and its ability to generate money sustainablyEnsure optimisation of production and production planningManage the day-to-day recruitment and have overall responsibility for the operation of the project ensuring that all Health and Safety, Environmental, Site License and other legislation is adhered to. To include the detail defined within the O&M contractCoordinate fuel reception, plans, budgets, reports and the implementation of safety and environmental guidelinesCoordinate the development of the business with the key Regional Business personnel and by interface with other Company Departments e.g. Business DevelopmentSeek out synergies and efficiencies in operational activities, pricing and customer serviceLeading the site management team to enable and assist them to deliver the full accountabilities of their rolesLead, manage and motivate a multifunctional team across a multi-site business. Engaging and developing all the employees to maximise their potential to themselves and the businessRemain abreast of industry developments, technological advances and operational practices and use these where appropriate to maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of each projectSkills and knowledge required to succeed:You have a strong technical education e.g., as a Mechanical, Electrical or Marine Engineer, preferably combined with a commercial background. You have significant experience in the Power Industry in a managerial role, preferably with experience from a biomass fired power plant. You work seamlessly with MS Office and/or similar software, and you have experience with finance and accounting, as well as reporting on management level. Business language will be English.You are experienced with safety legislation and environmental permits, and with ISO9001/14001/45001 and their application. As an experienced people manager, you rely on your natural impact, flexibility and cooperative disposition.
