Summary of the role
The Centre Manager will play a pivotal role in the success of our EPSRC Next Stage Digital Economy Research Centre, DIGIT Lab at the University of Exeter Business School. DIGIT Lab is a major 5-year EPSRC investment which began in March 2021. The... project aims to work with Large Established Organisations (LEOs) to reimagine them for the digital age, helping them to engage with the challenges of sustainability whilst increasing productivity through the adoption of digital technologies.
The post holder will be based in London and manage the DIGIT Lab Centre. They will take responsibility for planning, management, co-ordination, and delivery of activities including budget control and allocation, monitoring and engagement with the DIGIT Lab team, external partners and stakeholders and user community. The post holder will also work with relevant teams and colleagues in Exeter Innovation Division, Research Services Cluster and the Business School to provide an excellent level of management to the DIGIT Lab.
The post holder will be required to:
• Develop and maintain relationships with industry and external partners.
• Assist the Director and senior team in the development of the research where collaboration opportunities with industry and academia are identified.
• Oversee data management and timely reporting of the research project.
• Manage governance structures.
• Oversee the facilitation of workshops; summer showcase; meetings; sandpits; conferences; external visits to industry and partners; wider networking with the research and user community.
• Execute the Communication strategy and User Engagement Strategy.
• Maintain control of a large, complex budget by managing resource allocation accordingly.
• Oversee contracts and agreements with partners.
• Manage recruitment procedures and processes.
• Provide updates to the Director, senior team, advisory boards and management boards.
• Oversee the development and execution of the Advisory Board and EDI Committee meetings.
Many of these structures and processes have already been developed and are well established, however there is substantial opportunity for the post holder to shape the post in a manner that reflects their skills and interests.
