Job Description - Data Office Manager
Working in the Data & Analytics function this person will be pivotal to the success of the Data Strategy in Chaucer. The Data & Analytics function in Chaucer provides efficient and effective solutions across the whole business. We have an ambitious Data Strategy in place and will be providing the business with value through data and will be maturing the function as the data landscape develops.
This leader will ensure the data programmes is on track support a Data Culture programme and support our journey through data culture & fluency. Reporting to the Head of Data & Analytics you will ensure the data program is running on time You will also play a mentorship role to key data personnel, constantly honing their professional skills.
The ideal candidate will have a proven ability build relationships with the business counterparts and be a natural communicator and advocate for Data & Analytics. As a natural leader this person will have strong... talent for project management and delegation. They will be motivated by a desire to provide value to our business partners, promote a strong data culture and support the business on their data fluency journey.

The successful candidate has experience supporting Data & Analytics Transformation programs, Data Fluency and Data Culture experience. This role requires a collaborative mindset along with strong data acumen and experience to ensure programs are delivered as efficiently and effectively as possible. The ideal candidate will also have data analytics experience and can work collaboratively across business units to understand and assess data needs and priorities. You will have created and delivered Data Fluency programs in the past and will have enthusiasm to promote data.
This role will require that the holder build exceptional credibility, trusting partnerships, and can influence at varying levels of the organization to build consensus and alignment on strategic objectives. You will be the ability to communicate effectively and concisely both written and verbally at all levels of the organization with clear decisions and outcomes easily understood based on the audience.
Main Duties
• Collaborate across functions to build strong, trusting partnerships and develop, motivate, retain, and recruit talent to build and support high-performing teams.
• Track, manage, mitigate, and communicate risks, issues, and status as it relates to our global data transformational goals, strategic initiatives, and processes to various levels of management.
• Develop and support implementation of a Data Fluency program to be rolled out across the business to support development of a Data Driven culture.
• Ensures the right culture and behaviours are promoted and communicated. Acts as a role model for the team
• Develop and monitor KPI's/ OKR's to ensure development and progression of Data Strategy and Fluency initiatives.
• Understand how data informs business strategy and combine this understanding with data expertise to support data driven product and solutions to create incremental value.
• Assist the business in the understanding of the use of data, which improves business decisions.
• Be an ambassador for Data & Analytics, advocate for the data strategy, data skills and best practices.
• Be an advocate of Data Governance and Ethical use of data and building trust with partners.
• Nurtures a positive environment, fostering new ideas and developing individual talent across the wider team, ensuring appropriate performance targets and development plans are in place.
• Develop impeccable credibility and trust both internal and externally in the London Market.
Skills & Competencies
• Relevant experience as a data delivery leader.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully engage and influence a broad range of individuals across various businesses and key support functions.
• Good organisational and change management skills and attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to prioritise and work independently, managing a high-volume of tasks and deadlines.
• Good problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Capable of working collaboratively with leaders and business partners.
• Ability to develop and track KPIs and OKR
• Experience in insurance or similar industry in utilizing a consultative approach to understand business needs.
• London Market Experience
• A logical thinker and creative problem solver who can use data to instigate change in business areas.
• An interest in staying abreast with and understanding new technologies as the landscape changes over time.
