The opportunity
The Systems and Processes Engineer will play a crucial role in Go-Ahead producing documentation for all levels of the engineering function to align workshop and strategic procedures to the Go-Ahead Way, while ensuring they are reflected across all engineering systems, primarily focusing on the Asset Management System (AMS). This position requires close collaboration with engineering teams at all levels to develop the optimum way of working, and a practical approach to defining and validating work procedures. In addition, this role will involve using the developed standards to assist in implementing data-driven solutions and ensuring the seamless integration of new processes and systems within the organisation along with providing indefinite support of these systems as a superuser.
Accountabilities
Review existing ways of working
• Conduct a comprehensive review of existing ways of working across the bus operating companies to identify common processes and identify... the most effective approach.
• Work with the wider engineering and operational teams to help define the standard way of working.
System implementation and maintenance
• Work with the wider engineering team in building the data required for AMS and assist in delivering Training on the system across the Group.
• Provide support as a superuser of the AMS and be responsible for maintaining the system and building/altering Maintenance Patterns.
• Ensure the contents of the Technical Maintenance Schedule (TMS) and the maintenance performed in AMS are coherent. It will be the Systems and Processes Engineer's role to ensure any developments in the Go-Ahead Way are reflected in the AMS and any other systems that may be introduced.
• Support development and testing of APIs into the AMS ensuring they meet specification and support the business process.
Technical Documentation
• Work cross-functionally to generate documentation to assist in delivering the Go-Ahead Way, including detailed workshop-level standard operating procedures and associated training material.
• Work closely with the central engineering team to review and validate documentation.
• Review documentation with engineering teams at both workshop and management level.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to improve documentation based on feedback from user groups.
• Support the AMS project in producing documentation as required in preparation for the system go-live.
Reporting
• Provide regular progress reports to stakeholders on the timelines for document delivery
Knowledge & Experience:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and simplify processes.
• Experience in workshop environments
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships.
