We are looking for a talented Managing Consultant to join our “Climate Centre of Excellence” hub within SLR’s ESG Advisory team.
As a Managing Consultant, you will have the opportunity to manage and shape the environment and climate services that we deliver to our clients, act as a core technical advisor, lead project teams, and generally make a substantial impact on delivering excellent climate services in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

The role
You will be joining the ESG Advisory team at an exciting time: we are building on SLR’s rich breadth of technical capabilities to deliver high-impact, innovative and exciting ESG services within a collaborative and dynamic environment.
Your day-to-day responsibilities in this role will include:
• Leading projects across a range of our technical services, including GHG Accounting, climate target-setting (including SBTi methods), Net-Zero decarbonisation strategy, climate risk and TCFD, climate adaptation, and other topics as needed.
• Project managing teams to deliver our climate services, including supporting junior colleagues and managing timelines and budgets.
• Account management, including developing positive client relationships, and identifying relevant new opportunities to deliver impact to our clients.
• Taking an active role in new business development through seeking new business opportunities and developing client proposals.
• Service development: in a fast-moving ESG market, there will be opportunities to directly input and shape new climate services, and scope to follow your interests.
About you
We are looking for someone with a passion for sustainability and environmental and climate topics, who is driven to make a meaningful impact on corporate climate action within a dynamic and supportive team.
Core competencies & experience
• Experience in GHG Accounting, climate target-setting (SBTi), Net-Zero Strategy, climate risk assessment and reporting (TCFD, IFRS S2), supporting ESG disclosures,
• Experienced project manager, comfortable managing teams, timelines and budgets
• Excellent communication skills, including leading and facilitating meetings/workshops, delivering compelling presentations, senior stakeholder engagement
• Enthusiasm for delivering excellent climate services and a passion for learning
• Strong attention to detail and able to analyse and distil complex sets of information into meaningful results
• Ability to build successful relationships with clients, develop new business leads, and write and pitch proposals to contribute to the team’s project pipeline.
Desirable
• Experience in Transition Planning (TPT), EU Taxonomy, Avoided Emissions, Land-related GHG accounting & target-setting (SBTi FLAG), Beyond Value Chain Mitigation (BVCM), Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), climate adaptation, carbon management software, LCA, internal carbon pricing, CDP & other ESG disclosure platforms.
• Experience within a consulting environment
