About this job

Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in ensuring the stability and performance of our IT housing management system?

As a IT Housing Specialist (Projects), you will:
• Provide Robust IT Solutions: Ensure our IT housing management system is robust, stable, and high-performing, meeting the needs of the Council and its users.
• Drive System Enhancements: Lead ongoing enhancements to drive efficiencies, improve service delivery, and align with evolving business requirements.
• Collaborate on Projects: Work closely with business stakeholders and project managers, contributing technical expertise to support successful project execution.
• Foster Strong Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders, partners, and other IT services, promoting open communication and collaboration.
• Lead in Absence: Act as the IT Housing Team Leader when needed, ensuring continuity of leadership and maintaining team performance.
• Ensure Critical... Processing: Support the successful completion of critical End of Year processing, which may require weekend work.

Special requirements for this post

This role requires a degree-level education or a minimum of 4 years of recent senior experience in managing IT housing systems, specifically Capita Open Housing. You will lead system enhancements, manage helpdesk tickets, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver projects. Strong communication skills, a thorough understanding of housing services, and experience with end-of-year procedures are essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an inclusive approach, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to innovate and solve complex problems. You will manage resources effectively, ensure operational excellence, and maintain high service standards. Knowledge of equality and diversity issues, particularly within the Barking & Dagenham population, is crucial.
