As we approach a very promising and busy Summer 2024, we are now in a position where we will be expanding our team.
Position: Commis Chef
Location: London Gatwick Airport
Pay Rate: £12.86ph
Start Date: As soon as possible
Hours: Earliest Start 03:30am / Latest Finish 21:00pm.
The Role:
To prepare the food as per the menu with direction when required from the senior chef on duty, maintaining the quality with minimal wastage. Using a clean as you work philosophy, so the Kitchen is compliant with Health and Safety regulations. Give guidance, support and basic training to the Kitchen Stewards who support the Kitchen function from cleaning, porting, washing and managing supplies and store areas.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Support the planning, preparation, and production of food
• Support daily operations of the kitchen and live kitchen section
• Assist in the stock... control of food and beverages
• Adhere to professional standards of food presentation, production, and portion control
• Use of cleaning products in a safe manner
• To follow cleaning procedures including use of equipment
• Ensure the hygiene, cleanliness and tidiness of the kitchen and food counters achieve total customer satisfaction and meet company standards
• Assist with the basic training for team members
• Supports the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef’s with the running of the Kitchen
• Health & safety in the workplace including Control of Substances Harmful to Health (COSHH
• Takes on responsibility for the smooth running of the kitchen in the absence of the Chef de Partie
• Any other request within the scope of the position
• The days and times of work will be on rota basis over 7 days
Qualifications/ Essential Skills:
• Working standard should be NVQ or equivalent
• Strong internal customer care skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Excellent attention to detail
• A high standard of personal presentation
• Confident, professional, and welcoming personality
• Able to access LGW as early as 03:30AM
• Full 5 year background check alongside criminal record check
Job Types: Full-time, Temp to perm
Pay: £12.86 per hour
Schedule:
• 12 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Overtime
Experience:
• Cooking: 1 year (preferred)
