Role Description
As our first-ever Barista Supervisor, you’ll have the exciting opportunity to support the launch of a brand-new coffee counter at Seven Dials Market by KERB, our 25,000 sq ft food hall in Covent Garden. Reporting directly to the Floor Manager, you’ll be instrumental in creating... exceptional guest experiences for over 40,000 weekly visitors, ensuring every cup of coffee is served with warmth and care.

Responsibilities
• Oversee the day-to-day running of the coffee counter, ensuring smooth operations whilst managing a brilliant team of Baristas.
• Create a welcoming and engaging environment centred around guest experience and exceptional hospitality. Ensuring every cup of tea and coffee is served exceptionally
• Ensuring the coffee stand operates in line with KERB's sustainability goals and commitments, with a focus on a 100% disposable-free approach, and contributing ideas for further reducing environmental impact.
• Support on the recruitment, training, and development of a small but exceptional Barista team
• Support with the management of stock levels, orders placement, and coordinate with the Floor Manager to ensure the coffee stand is always fully equipped to meet demand while minimising waste.
• Work closely with our charity partner KERB+ to support our work experience programme
• Designing and building seasonal menus
• Maintain high standards in coffee preparation, presentation, and taste, ensuring consistency and attention to detail with every order.
• Collaborate with the Floor Manager: Work closely with the Floor Manager to align the coffee counter's operations with the wider goals of Seven Dials Market and KERB.
Requirements and skills
Essential
• Proven experience working as a Barista, with a solid understanding of coffee preparation techniques, equipment, and the ability to consistently deliver brilliant drinks.
• Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within a coffee shop, cafe or hospitality environment, with a demonstrated ability to lead, train, and inspire a team.
• Excellent people skills, with a genuine passion for exceptional hospitality, with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Experience managing stock levels, placing orders, and working closely with the Floor Manager to ensure smooth, efficient day-to-day operations.
Desired but not essential
• Familiarity with Lightspeed (our current EPOS system).
• Experience designing seasonal coffee menus, adapting offerings to customer preferences and trends.
• Proven experience in staff scheduling and managing rotas effectively.
• Experience overseeing a concession or third-party operated stand, ensuring smooth and independent operations.
• Background in working with an impact-driven business or experience supporting sustainability initiatives.
