To getthere, we need exceptionally talented, bright and driven people.Amazon's Reliability, Maintenance, and Engineering organization(RME) is hiring a Technical Infrastructure Program Manager focusedon HVAC Design and Commissioning (BMS) and its related equipmentand components including Building Management Systems (BMS)systems.
This individual will initiate andmanage multiple programs and projects using effective timemanagement skills and personal impact to drive complex activitiesacross the organization. The Technical Infrastructure ProgramManager supports all Amazon fulfillment business units and sitetypes. This role will drive continuous improvement of HVAC systemsand actively participate in the design and implementation ofImprovement Strategies. The goal is to increase efficiency, uptime,and provide support to operational areas with an emphasis on short-and... long-term reliability improvements.
Thisrole requires a dynamic individual who can independently managecomplex technical programs, lead cross-functional teams, and driveour commitment to sustainability and operational excellence.Teamwork is an absolute must to accomplish our goals. The candidate willlead with influence and work with internal teams as well asexternal suppliers, vendors, and consultants including utilities,manufacturers and contractors to align priorities and ensure thedelivery of key milestones.
The successfulcandidate will be a subject matter expert in their field, andpossess a HVAC design and commissioning background, coupled with anunderstanding of project/construction management. This positionwill require proficiency in the principles of airflow distribution,a deep knowledge of HVAC sequence of operations strategies and anunderstanding of building codes and standards across multiplegeographies. This person will be able to undertake the challengesof sophisticated equipment platforms and demonstrate their abilityto think broadly and strategically in aligning building equipmentwith the larger objectives of thebusiness.
Key jobresponsibilities
• Develop, execute, and manage programsfocused on the implementation of sustainable HVAC and mechanicalsystem solutions across different business units.
• Workindependently to successfully deliver program goals, seekingguidance as needed and making connections to the right people ortechnologies as required.
• Oversee the delivery ofcapital projects related to the BMS, from scoping and design toconstruction and commissioning.
• Collaborate closelywith internal and external stakeholders, including technologyproviders, customers, partners, and vendors, to delivercomplex/cross-functional projects.
• Identify and driveimprovements in HVAC and mechanical systems to increase energyefficiency, reduce environmental impact, and enhanceperformance.
• Provide technical leadership on HVAC andmechanical system design, installation, operation, andmaintenance.
• Lead cross-functional teams, manageresources, and maintain project schedules and budgets.
•Develop and implement training programs to increase team knowledgeand competence.
• Monitor, evaluate, and report on theperformance and efficiency of HVAC systems
• Stay up todate with the latest sustainable technologies and industry trendsand ensure compliance with relevant regulations andstandards.
• Review engineering designs & drawings,construction and commissioning documentation and perform systeminspections for construction quality, safety and regulatorycompliance.
• Develop, implement, and supportpreventative and predictive maintenance strategies for new andexisting equipment.
• Participate in/lead Root CauseFailure Analysis (RCFA) to identify root causes of complex and/orrepetitive problems and put in place executable correctiveactions.
• Provide support for hazard evaluations andrisk assessments to comply with applicable OSHA, EPA, andInternational Building Code requirements ormethodologies.
• Provide leadership to drive continuousimprovement with assets and site reliability.
• Analyzeoperational data, KPIs, OEE, etc. to identify gaps and areas ofpotential improvement.
• Actively participate in designand implementation of Asset Improvement Strategies for systems toimprove production and uptime.
• Lead discussions tohandle concerns and Requests for Information (RFIs). This willrequire technical knowledge, resourcefulness to navigate throughinternal and external resources, and a focus on customersatisfaction.
• Travel up to 75%
BASICQUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering orrelevant technical discipline.
• Operations andreliability maintenance experience in manufacturing, industrialwarehouse or commercial building environment.
•Experience in managing multiple programs / projects, usingeffective time management skills and personal impact to drivecomplex activities across the organization.
• A minimumof 5 years' experience in HVAC design, construction, ormaintenance.
• Experience in design and operation ofmechanical systems, including Roof Top Units, CRAC systems, HVLSand exhaust fans and other air quality and comfort controlequipment.
• Understanding of psychometrics,thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamic processes andtheir relation to HVAC related applications.
•Familiarity with building and or process heating/cooling loadcalculations to derive HVAC equipment specifications.
•Experience testing/troubleshooting using a range of devices, toidentify and report out on base building systems.
•Ability to understand technical air balance (TAB) reports andrecommend changes to equipment settings.
• Familiaritywith safety standards and regulatory requirements includinginternational building code (IBC), National Electric Code (NEC),ASME, NFPA and ASHRAE standards.
• Experience preferablyin a supervisory or project management role in the installation ofutilities and infrastructure in new construction and existingbuilding.
• Strong analytical and problem-solvingskills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS •Professional Engineering (PE) License, Certified Energy Manager(CEM), or LEED accreditation is highly desirable.
• SixSigma/Project Management certification (PMP orequivalent).
• Proven ability to analyze and troubleshootelectrical control wiring and related BMSinstrumentation.
• High capability to adapt to tightdeadlines, heavy workloads, frequent changes in priorities, andchanges in the business environment.
• Effectiveinterpersonal and communication skills to successfully integrateand align a multi-discipline team in delivery ofprojects.
• Able to problem solve and troubleshoot as theneed arises with a hands-on approach.
• Experience usingHVAC monitoring software, such as Niagara BMS fortroubleshooting.
