A luxury 5-star boutique hotel in the heart of Knightsbridge, London. 80 steps to Harrods and 1 minute to Harvey Nichols. We are now recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Handyman to join our five-star, luxurious boutique hotel. Have fun working alongside a fantastic team.
Skills Required:
- Strong painting and decorating skills.
-Basic plumbing
-Basic electrics
-Basic carpentry
This role will be responsible for the shift coverage and therefore must possess strong trouble-shooting skills in all areas of maintenance in guest rooms and public areas.
Flexibility to work weekends is required.
The position is ideal for somebody that has a genuine passion when it comes to maintenance and wants to turn this into a full-time career.
As a Painter & Decorator/Handy person, you will:
• Be responsible for the effective maintenance and decor in guest rooms, public areas and restaurant.
• To carry out repairs to paint and... fabric of the Hotel
• To carry out painting & decorating snagging to corridors and public areas as necessary
• Rehang wallpaper and replace silicone as required
• Communicates with hotel staff to become aware of maintenance needs and ensures timely response to requests e.g., room repairs, housekeeping equipment, etc.
• To assist the Maintenance manager and maintenance department to complete task in a timely manner.
• Carry out a lamp check in all corridors and public areas at the beginning and end of the shift, and resolve any defect
• Ensure that basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, A/C and any other maintenance requirement (snagging) within your capabilities are carried out safely
• Adopts safe working practices at all times, ensuring own safety as well as all others in and around the hotel in line with the Health and Safety at work Act 1974
• Proactively anticipates work that needs to be carried out at the hotel (via regular checks etc.)
• Ensures that any maintenance work on rooms / utilities, where reasonably practical is carried out when hotel is operating at low occupancy
• Have working knowledge of wallpaper/painting as well as repair and maintenance of the property
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
