Management Accountant

This is a hybrid role based in our Gloucester office, you must live within a commutable distance.As part of Destination Sport Group (“DSG”), Mike Burton creates and delivers major brand, customer, and revenue-focused ticketing and travel programmes around the globe, working in direct partnership with organisations that include the British & Irish Lions and England Rugby. https://mikeburton.com/
Due to continued growth within our finance team, we are looking for a Management Accountant to join and focus on delivering day-to-day financial and accounting functions across multiple projects for England Rugby Travel and Lions Rugby Travel.
No two days are the same in this broad role, but on a typical day you will:
Report into the Head of Finance, driving the continued success of Mike Burton
Be responsible for the production of monthly management accounts for Mike Burton with variance analysis to budget and discussing the monthly... numbers with the department heads
Work closely with the team to ensure month-end is delivered in line with the required deadlines
Improve the efficiency of the month-end processes
Prepare monthly bank, balance sheet & intercompany reconciliations to a high standard
Prepare quarterly VAT, ABTA, ATOL & Escrow returns
Preparation of weekly management information for distribution to the operational teams
Assist with quarterly & annual audits
Drive process improvements and bring new ideas to the finance team
Build strong working relationships with the wider finance team and the department heads
Ad-hoc project work as and when required
To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will:
Be a fully or part-qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
Have proven experience of Bank & Ledger reconciliations
Have previous experience of preparing consolidated management accounts, ideally in a fast-paced, multidivisional, operational environment
Demonstrate excellent attention to detail with the desire to get things right the first time
Be computer literate with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, and in particular Excel
Have experience in manipulating and managing large quantities of data using Excel
Possess excellent communication skills both written & verbal
Have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Have good knowledge of back-office systems
Have the ability to work within a team environment to achieve team/department objectives
Be a great collaborator, happy to ‘help out’ in other areas that will only grow your experience and opportunities
Be a highly organised individual with the ability to prioritise work efficiently and effectively
Possess the ability to think logically, consider all relevant aspects and carry out complex analysis on information
