Job Descrption
To work within our established Infrastructure team to maintain our current estate and to provide expert guidance, using industry best practice, for our transformation to the cloud. Lead initiatives which deliver modernisation of technology and tooling which enables accelerated and robust Infrastructure activity.
Responsibilities
Ensure that the IT infrastructure architecture remains consistently available to all users (including colleagues, clients, business partners and suppliers) through:
Management of service or change requests.
Management and delivery of scheduled daily, weekly and monthly tasks.
Identification, management and resolution of incidents, including root cause analysis and elimination of problems.
Identification, management and implementation of application or process improvements.
Draft project proposals and plans for migrations, upgrades and new service deployments.
Design, Manage & Transform current On-Prem estate to Cloud services (Azure, Saas etc... including ongoing maintenance & Monitoring.
Second and third-line support of the IT Estate (Servers/Network/Storage) further including supporting Third party providers/suppliers & Internal Teams (Development).
Reports to the Head of IT Infrastructure, immediately escalating outages, major delays and other serious issues.
Understand the business strategy and contribute to the overall goals of the business through infrastructure, development, improvement & support. Work closely with other members of the team to define and implement the infrastructure strategy.
Identification, procurement, and installation of server/networking hardware to data centre and office locations. building relationships with third party suppliers and clients.
Take responsibility for the delivery of one or more projects, typically involving migrations, upgrades and introduction of new/improved services and applications.
Assist with implementing and configuring specific components of the designed disaster recovery plan and complete regular testing of plans.
Expand and improve the infrastructure team’s documentation library.
Assist with ensuring that IT security policy and procedures are enforced, and staff are aware of their roles in contributing to this.
Maintain a technical advantage through continual training and personal development
Support 7IM’s VPVPs and complete all necessary compliance and cyber initiatives.
About You
Skills
Extensive experience and knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies. Including Azure, Networking, Active Directory/Entra ID, Storage, Powershell and Virtualization (Hyper-V essential, VMWare desirable).
Experience with utilisation of IIS, Microsoft System Centre products, networking devices is desirable (use of Cisco firewalls and HP switches is an advantage).
Experience with Azure security services (Defender for Cloud, Sentinel), Governance & Monitoring.
Experience with implementing IT security policies and procedures.
Desirable Experience with Azure DevOps (Repos, pipelines and deployments), SQL Server, Terraform.
Analytical skills and ability to understand complex problems at a detailed technical level and communicate them clearly to all Colleagues.
Ability and willingness to share knowledge and skills through mentoring and coaching.
Proven track record of delivering to commitments.
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Qualifications
Microsoft Infrastructure specific certifications are a distinct advantage. Other Relevant Information
