Our client, a global engineering firm, is seeking a senior electrical design engineer to join their expanding team. This role offers remote work with occasional travel to the Newcastle office. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with National Grid and power generation.
Key Responsibilities - Senior Electrical Design Engineer:
• Deliver transmission protection and control systems for diverse customer domains and disciplines.
• Mentor and coach team members to support their professional development.
• Assess and optimize delivery processes to ensure efficient project completion within scope.
• Provide innovative technical solutions for protection and control on the UK Transmission and Distribution network.
• Ensure compliance with the latest policies and standards.
• Deliver high-quality customer service and maintain exceptional standards of quality.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving... fault-finding, and analytical thinking skills.
• Provide technical input for Sales, Proposals, and Operations departments.
Qualifications & Experience - Senior Electrical Design Engineer:
• Experience with protection systems on National Grid transmission network.
• Familiarity with National Grid delivery and specifications/standards is essential.
• NG CDAE certification is required.
• Experience dealing with NG as a direct customer and/or providing protection solutions for brownfield extensions or greenfield construction.
• Excellent communication skills for effective coordination between teams, function groups, and customers.
• HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, plus extensive experience in the Electricity Transmission and Distribution Industry.
