Overview: As the Sales Manager for Supply Chain at Windward, you will play a pivotal role in cultivating and managing relationships with key customers in the supply chain sector, including freight forwarders, importers, and exporters. This position requires a proactive approach to achieving sales targets by leveraging Windward's innovative AI-powered solutions, which have already garnered a strong portfolio of leading clients.
The ideal candidate will be adept at driving sales in a defined territory with a focus on new product offerings, overseeing the sales process from market penetration to deal closure. This role also involves close collaboration with internal teams and stakeholders at Windward to share valuable market insights and product feedback.
Operating in a dynamic startup environment, the Sales Manager will lead customer account planning, develop strategic sales initiatives, and ensure that Windward's solutions meet and exceed customer expectations.
Key... Responsibilities:
• Achieve assigned sales volume targets and contribute to overall revenue growth.
• Develop and implement targeted penetration strategies for key departments within target accounts, focusing on either replacing existing vendors or integrating Windward's solutions.
• Engage with key supply chain prospects to build strong, strategic relationships that maximize client value.
• Gain a comprehensive understanding of customers' operations, workflows, and unmet needs.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including management resources, to ensure that account objectives and customer expectations are consistently met.
• Participate in webinars, virtual, and in-person industry events to expand knowledge of the supply chain ecosystem and stay updated on market trends.
Collaboration & Alignment:
• Work closely with Product, Business Development, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to ensure cohesive alignment across functions.
• Collaborate with other members of the commercial sales team to enhance overall sales efforts.
• Engage Solution Experts, Customer Success teams, and management resources to support strategic account initiatives.
• Facilitate executive-level engagement with customer management to strengthen relationships and drive positive business outcomes.
Qualifications:
• 2-3 years of experience selling SaaS solutions within the supply chain industry, particularly to freight forwarders and/or shippers.
• Strong relationships with key industry players (freight forwarders and/or shippers) across Europe are a significant advantage.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex solutions effectively.
• Familiarity with the MEDDPICC sales process and Salesforce CRM is preferred.
• Proven experience in building and managing strong client relationships.
• A curious, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events.
