ABOUT THE ROLE
Be a part of our extraordinary Buying and Merchandising team. We're looking for someone who has a keen eye for style and trends to develop our buying process.
As a part of the Buying and Merchandising team, the Buyer will take full ownership of a Department. They will use client feedback to create and execute merchandise strategies and assortment plans that deliver strong financial targets and delight all Stitch Fix clients.
YOU’RE EXCITED ABOUT THIS ROLE BECAUSE YOU WILL:
• Drive the overall strategic business vision for your department
• Partner with the merchandising team to construct and manage a category of business to seasonal financial targets
• Analyse business performance and present strategic next steps to the leadership team
• Leverage client feedback to build seasonal product assortments with a data driven mindset focusing on (but not limited to) fit, quality, size and style ratings
• Manage monthly competitive shopping to gain a deep understanding of... seasonal trends and pricing
• Grow and maintain strong relationships with brand partners
• Strategically scout new suppliers & styles to support key product strategies
• Travel as needed to supplier meetings, trade shows and other business needs
• Partner with suppliers and internal Exclusive Brands (Own Brand) team to develop, source, and buy new products and ranges that give a cohesive total offer
• Leverage the expertise of cross-functional Data Science partners in building a robust vision for product category
• Recruit, hire, onboard, train and manage direct report(s)
• Demonstrate your expert negotiation skills in securing a desirable but commercial range
WE’RE EXCITED ABOUT YOU BECAUSE:
• You have a minimum of 4-6+ years of experience in a retail buying role
• You have at least 2 years of experience as a Branded Buyer managing direct reports and are excited to mentor, develop and inspire others
• You are proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint) and love learning new systems and ideally have experience in web based office systems (Google Mail, Sheet etc)
• You have strong knowledge of retail math and business metrics
• You have a keen eye for upcoming trend
• You are excited to dive deep into data and use client feedback to drive assortment decisions
• You are an excellent negotiator
• You love to innovate and are eager to create process improvements
• You have strong verbal and written communication skills and are a master presenter
• You are a positive team player who is able to work independently
• You excel in a fast paced environment where change is the norm
• You are comfortable taking calculated risks to achieve results
• You thrive in a feedback driven environment
• You are able to travel up to 25% of the time
• You can be based full time in our London office (once restrictions lift and the office reopens safely)
