About OneWelbeck:
OneWelbeck was founded by a group of leading clinicians whose objective is to develop a state-of-the-art private day-case centre in the greater London area.
OneWelbeck offers outpatient procedural and day-case intervention work in a unique dedicated setting to include procedures such as Ear, Nose & Throat, Permanent Pacemaker Implantation, Cryo AF Ablation, Orthopaedic, Gynaecological and Gastro-Intestinal procedures.
Welbeck Health... Partners are developing several other day centres across the UK in addition to the flagship centre at 1 Welbeck Street. Further centres are also planned internationally.
Controls Assurance Statement:
The purpose of this job description is to outline the level of responsibility and accountability of this post. This will ensure that all work undertaken by our staff is clearly identified and carried out under clear lines of accountability.

The post holder will provide a responsive and efficient Clinicalservice to meet the needs of the Business. The post holder will use their reason, intellect and judgement to work on
their own initiative to deal with matters on behalf of their Manager/Management Team.
The post holder will be an effective decision maker, who is able to prioritise their own workload whilst responding to interruptions. The post holder will be able to deal with unpredictable work patterns and proactively deal with issues without reference to others.
Job Summary:
To operational lead and manage the echo department, be proactively be a part of the SLT management on the floor. Hold British society of echocardiography or equivalent qualifications and support trainee staff with obtaining their accreditation.

Main Duties and Responsibilities: Clinical
· Ability to perform transthoracic echocardiograms; stress echocardiograms, dobutamine stress echocardiograms, contrast studies, bubble studies all independently (where appropriate nurse support given)
· Support the clinicians in theatres performing Transoesophageal echocardiograms, Cardioversions, and PFO/ASD cases.
· Oversee and support ILR implants, vascular work, and CPET support
· Accountable for trainee echo physiologist reports
· Responsible for teaching and supervision of trainee physiologists
Communication:
· Share success of the service with team, number of tests, new services
· Communicate complex information with patients, relatives or carers, explaining the procedures taking into account any learning or physical disabilities, in order to obtain agreement and cooperation to any tests or procedures, ensuring privacy, dignity and confidentiality at all times as well as showing empathy when required.
· Build a good relationship with the doctor group
· Proactively work with colleagues on the floor to deliver the 4 core values.
Operational Delivery:
· Review room utilisation and bookings for echo service
· Flexibility to work based on business needs
· Ensure availability, cleanliness and maintenance of equipment.
· Ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained utilising the materials manager to order stock as appropriate, via stock control or purchase requisition.
Quality Care & Governance:
· Involvement in our Quality Assurance Performance Index meetings every 3 months
· Transthoracic and Stress Audits
· Cleaning audits
· Appropriate referrals, review inclusion and exclusion criteria for tests
· Infection and prevention and control
· Informed consent
· Regulatory updates from BSE
Reporting:
· Use reporting systems to complete test results for reviewal by the cardiologists
· Participate in a multidisciplinary team, delivering specialist cardiac diagnostic services;
- Liaising with medical and administrative staff
- Nurses
- Other specialist Physiologists and healthcare assistants.
People Management:
The Echo lead will be responsible for the non-invasive cardiac physiologists on level 3; this will include but is not limited to;
· Rostering

· Monitoring continual improvement and performance of employees
· Clinical Supervision
· Appraisals
· Disciplinaries
· Sickness absence
· Ensuring protocols and policies are followed
· Managing bank and agency staff
· Capacity utilisation and management
Resource/Financial Management:
· Appropriately manage the use of locum and bank staff in line with business needs.
· Work on business cases with providers to get the best prices for new equipment
· Continually review the service provision and proactively get involved in future growth of the echo department.
Infection Prevention & Control:
All OneWelbeck employees, whether involved directly or indirectly in the provision of healthcare, have a duty to cooperate with and implement Business policies and procedures in preventing and controlling infection. This includes co-operation with colleagues and contractors also involved in providing healthcare so far as is necessary to enable the Business to meet its obligations under the Health and Social Care Act 2008.

Maintain confidentiality of patient-identifiable personal data using a non-identifiable alternative, where practicable, and limiting access on a strictly need-to-know basis under the responsibilities of the OneWelbeck Heart Health, OneWelbeck Caldicott Guardian.
Risk:
Accept personal responsibility for contributing to the OneWelbeck Heart Health, OneWelbeck management of risk, including the reasonable avoidance of any action which would knowingly cause unacceptable risk to self, others, or to the Business.
As far as is reasonably practicable attempt to prevent other people from undertaking tasks or actions which would knowingly cause risks to self, others, or to the Business, following the Business policy and training.
Identify and report actual or potential hazards/ risks in the work environment per Business policies and take immediate action to minimize risks where it is reasonably practicable to do so.
Identify and report to the appropriate authority incidents of risk, neglect, abuse or endangerment to vulnerable adults and children.
Follow Welbeck Health Partners policy on the use of Personal Protective Equipment e.g., Masks, Gloves, Visors etc.
Awareness of and compliance with Health and Safety Regulations.
