Job Descrption
The Deputy Group Director of Nursing post is a senior nursing position within the organisation which requires the individual to possess excellent communication and organisational skills which will facilitate working within the Surgical Services Group.
The postholder will be responsible for the strategic clinical oversight of theatres with three Matrons supporting, this will include leading on procurement and providing strategic leadership for the service. The postholder will work alongside the Group Director of Nursing to deliver the quality and safety agenda - Fundamentals of Care Programme engaging the clinical teams to ensure delivery of patient centered evidence based high quality and safe care. The postholder will deputise for the Group Director of Nursing in her absence and at meetings.
Main duties of the job
As a key professional leader the Deputy Director of Nursing will provide operational direction to all nurses within the directorates, be responsible for providing high... quality patient focused care, ensuring robust risk management and governance arrangements are in place. Their portfolio will include operational nursing and AHP oversight for theatres including oversight of clinical procurement and Medicines Management for the Group plus deputising for the Group Director of Nursing.
The post holder will be an integral part of the trust senior nursing team working with other Deputy Directors of Nursing, Directors of Nursing, Deputy Chief Nurses and Chief Nursing Officer.

Qualifications
Essential
• Registered nurse with NMC
• Masters degree or equivalent level of academic achievement in health related subject or working towards
• Completion of recent Leadership /Management or evidence of equivalent competence
• Evidence of professional development in last twelve months

• Mentorship qualification or equivalent

• Formal presentation skills (to groups at all levels, both within the organisation
