Job Descrption
• You have 3-5 years of work experience in accounting, with a solid understanding of German and US accounting principles and practices,
• You are proficient in accounting software (Datev, Quickbooks Online) and knowledgeable in taxes (VAT, income, payroll), reconciliations, and tax returns,
• You have experience with SQL,
• You have strong problem-solving skills with proactive issue resolution and excellent communication with cross-functional teams,
• You are fluent in English and in German (B2 level),
• (Desirable) You have experience in writing code and code review (ideally in PHP)
What the job involves
• GotPhoto is looking for an enthusiastic Tech Accountant to join our Accounting & Taxes Team in Berlin to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our accounting data and facilitate a seamless integration between our accounting function, product, and technology,
• As we grow and expand, you support the development and maintenance of the organization's internal accounting... backend module and related products,
• You support GotPhoto's Back Office, manage international payments, ensure payment integration, and maintain Group Accounting knowledge,
• You write SQL queries for reconciliations, handle invoices, resolve issues, and assist with Month and Year End Closings,
• You conduct QA and code reviews for the accounting backend, ensuring compliance and advising on financial data accuracy,
• You guide on tax compliance and make adjustments for legal or internal optimization needs,
• You work on cross-functional projects involving tech, payment, and accounting, resolving issues or escalating them as needed,
• You onboard and mentor new employees, sharing senior-level finance knowledge and supporting their understanding of GotPhoto's finance processes
