Job Descrption
We have a new and exciting vacancy for a yard site manager to join our busy and well-established client in Edmonton. Our client is oneofEurope’sleadingproviders within their industry,operating across12 countries and supporting more than 2k blue chip and regional customers.
The role is a temporary to permanent role offering a permanent salary of £35,000-£38,000 depending on experience. The working hours are 7am - 5pm Monday - Friday with a 1-hour lunch break.
About the role:
You will be required to report to the country manager. You will have a crucial role in driving operational and logistical efficiency, quality of items, and meeting all health & safety and compliance requirements in our client’s yard.
KeyResponsibilities:
• Ensuring all workers are always working and breaks are as the workers contracts. No more than 1 hour per day.
• Overtime down to a minimum and overtime is recorded for all workers on a weekly spreadsheet
• Responsible for all payments/PO’s to suppliers/gate... suppliers.
• Responsible for all Cash on site, this is controlled on site and every penny must be accounted for. To notify country manager when any cash is needed.
• Cash tickets to be filled out correctly and scanned into teams at the end of every day.
• Cash Register to be filled out and recorded and reconciled at the end of every day, via the cash tracker spreadsheet
• Stock conversion to be carried out on the app at the end of every day to ensure accuracy of stock by category and grade
• Weekly stocktake to be completed and submitted via the app every Friday
• All suppliers to be unloaded as quick as possible and not to leave site without a cash ticket being raised, if it has not been paid, it needs to be kept separate, so there are no discrepancies.
• Yard to be always kept clean and tidy.
• The transport manager will arrange all collections/deliveries, and it is the responsibility of the site manager to ensure all jobs are allocated to the drivers with the correct paperwork and ideally, pre-loaded the night before to minimise drive downtime.
• To be responsible for the delivery/collection/waste paperwork and make sure it is filled out properly by the drivers and signed for by the customers, then scanned and uploaded to Teams every night
• Maintain supplier price lists and ensure any new agreements are approved via country managers
• Have a visible presence in the yard for 50% of the working day supporting sorting, put away, loading / unloading and housekeeping.
KPI’s:
All successful operational professionals have a passion for meeting and exceeding their targets PI’s, and ours are set out below
• Ensure all Zero Harm KPI’s are delivered
• 99% On Time in Full for customer orders
Person Specification:
• Highly motivated self-starter.
• Maintain and develop existing suppliers and always be on the lookout for new jobs - collection or sales
• Make sure the yard is always flowing with unsorted/repair items kept to a minimum
• All paperwork to be completed at the end of every day
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and impact others.
• Customer focused.
