We are seeking an experienced Rigger & Cranage Specialist to join this long-standing African operation. The primary scope of the role will be to inspect, maintain and operate the rigging gear, as well as actively contribute to the training of the national rigging workforce by developing and facilitating training programs.
Reporting to the Rigging Manager your key responsibilities will include:
• Setting up and assembling the rigging equipment required for lifting and moving heavy loads.
• Communicating with crane operators to guide them in moving objects and depositing them in the correct location.
• Inspect rigging equipment regularly, identify potential hazards, and take corrective actions to mitigate risks.
• Inspecting and maintaining the rigging gear, as well as repairing or replacing worn-out or damaged components.
• Perform rigging studies to plan a lift and to... ensure that the rigging equipment and cranage can safely handle the weight of the load.
Your background:
• Technical College Mechanical/Rigging/Cranes Diploma
• Rigging Trade Candidate must be physically medically fit
• Candidate must be qualified as a rigger
• Must be able to work outside exposed to heat, wind, and dusty environments
• Must be able to work at heights
• Underground experience
• Processing plant experience
• Opencast experience
• LMI (lifting machinery inspector)
• Rigging Training Coordinator/Facilitator/Moderat
