Exciting opportunity for an experienced sheet-metal manufacturing operative to join a skilled production team headed-up by the Supervisor -manufacturing.
Cableduct is an award-winning manufacturer of standard and bespoke cable management systems, specialising in high quality floor boxes. These are installed in high end residential (Buckingham Palace), retail (Harrods, Burberry) hospitality (Peninsula Hotel) and office spaces (80 Charlotte St Fitzrovia W1) in the UK and worldwide. Our customers, our brand and our quality are at the heart of everything we do.
We are a family business and manufacture our products at our factory in Croydon. This is a small, entrepreneurial business in which you will have to think on your feet. Therefore, someone who enjoys a busy day and is happy to “muck in” with whatever keeps the business moving forward will do well.
This permanent full-time role is based in our factory in Croydon and is an opportunity for the candidate with... the right skills and attitude to build a successful career in metal fabrication and manufacturing. Applicants must live locally, ideally within a 30-minute commute.
Main duties
• Maintain safe and clean working environment
• Manufacture metal floor-boxes and cable management products
• Manufacturing activities include measuring using a vernier, punching, folding and guillotining, drilling, band-sawing, spot welding, bushing, notching and fly pressing and manual tooling
• Use correct equipment to manufacture all parts
• Liaise proactively with your Supervisor and team to keep on track and address issues
Ideally, you will have the following approach, experience and ambitions
• Minimum 1-3 years in a manufacturing and metal fabrication environment
• Experience of building products sector
• Professional, well-organised and proactive member of the team
• Focus on accuracy and attention to detail
Pay and conditions
· Salary: competitive starting salary, depending on experience
· Bonus schemes
-Monthly bonus of 10% of salary if company hits sales revenue target (we hit target every month last financial year but assume we hit target 10 out of every 12 months)
-Quarterly bonus based on share of profits made by the company (paid every quarter depending on profit achieved)
· 25 days holiday plus public holidays
· Statutory pension
· Working hours
-39 hours per week.
-Monday to Thursday: 8am-4.30; Friday 8am-3.30pm
-No weekends
· Breaks during the day:
-30 minute break for lunch at 13.00 - unpaid
-10 minute break at 10am - paid
· There is no parking at the factory
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From £11.44 per hour
Expected hours: 39 per week
