THE ROLE
The Branded Websites Product team sits within BBC Studios and plays a major role in developing websites and digital offering for some of its most loved global brands’ ranging from children’s brand, Bluey to home-grown British brands like Doctor Who.
We’re looking for a Product Manager to join our team and continuously create value for our web audiences and support the business’ commercial goals.
You will be a part of a fantastic cross-functional, in-house product development team, including engineers, QA, UX and delivery and report into the Executive Product Manager (EPM) for the portfolio.
You’ll have full ownership of the day-to-day management of one of the products in the portfolio while also support the rest of the portfolio as the need arises.
Responsibilities include:
• Owning the product backlog, ensuring that development tickets contain full detail, ready for development against the quarterly plan and are clearly articulated to the team.
• Providing clear prioritisation and direction to the team of the initiatives and the detailed requirements.
• Working with the development team to prioritise, trouble-shoot and resolve live, urgent issues; and support the EPM and Delivery lead with stakeholder communications.
• Partnering with UX to ensure that we adopt a product-led approach to create experiences that are useful, usable and feasible for our audiences.
• Working with engineering to understand solutions and feasibility and to ensure high standards of quality.
• Communicating and liaising with stakeholders across the business to manage feature and change requests; to gather requirements; and to evangelise the product-led, problem-solving ways of working.
• Measuring the success of our initiatives by working closely with our data and audience teams to perform data analysis and derive actionable insights.
• Identifying opportunities to solve problems or to create value for our audiences and the business;
• Supporting the Executive Product Manager in leading the team from ideation all the way through to delivery.
• Supporting the Executive Product Manager with the portfolio-level product roadmap planning and strategic goals.
WHAT DOES IT TAKE?
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone in their early career in product management, and/or interested in building experience in the digital media industry.
Key Criteria
• A team player with a strong sense of team culture, committed to creating an inclusive working environment and leading by example.
• Good attention to detail applied to the detail of requirements, solutions and data, while being able keep your awareness of the broader context of the roadmap and goals.
• Basic knowledge of agile software development methodologies and tools.
• Basic understanding of product management methods.
• Comfortable using analytics reporting tools to perform product analysis and identify the most meaningful metrics to aid data-informed decision making.
• Managing multiple conflicting priorities simultaneously with strong organisation and methodical skills.
Desirable
• Prior digital experience either working in product management roles or similar/adjacent roles in the product and technology sector.
• Experience applying Agile methodologies and product/project tools, and working in an in-house product team.
• Experience of working in the digital media or publishing space.

Salary: £60,000 plus London Weighting Allowance depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
