Location: Remote; travel to client sites as needed and to Bristol monthly

Join a leading climate risk firm in engineering markets, dedicated to providing top-tier services across consulting engineers, asset owner/operators, NGO’s and the Public Sector. Leveraging deep industry expertise and a robust engineering background, we are poised for rapid expansion and are committed to addressing the challenges of the engineering markets with innovative solutions.

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager who is well-versed in the dynamics of selling to engineering consultancies, utilities, NGO’s and the Public Sector both directly and through our growing Partner network. This role will concentrate on expanding our presence and client base in the UK, US and EMEA markets.

The role is permanent, full time with the offer of home working. There is a requirement to travel to Fathom’s HQ in Bristol during induction, for monthly meetings and when required.

Responsibilities:
• Drive revenue growth by identifying new opportunities for our flood-risk products and services both directly and through strategic partners.
• Collaborate with partners to foster sustained revenue growth and to position our firm as a leading provider of flood & climate risk intelligence
• Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline to ensure continuous revenue growth.
• Articulate the benefits of our products and services to both prospective and existing clients through compelling sales presentations and detailed proposals.
• Work closely with the Customer Success and Product Development teams to relay client feedback and influence future product offerings.
• Build and sustain productive internal and external relationships, ensuring effective teamwork and communication.

Required Experience & Skills:
• Proven experience in selling data (preferably geospatial data), or software to engineering and built environment market customers
• Demonstrable track record of achieving sales targets and effectively managing client & partner accounts. Minimum 4-6 years experience.
• Proven ability to present at high-profile seminars and conferences
• Strong understanding of consulting engineering practices and climate change
• Demonstrable understanding of GIS software and climate-risk platforms relevant to asset management, flood and climate risk assessments.
• Ability to communicate complex climate change concepts clearly to a varied audience.
• Experience in preparing and managing large contract negotiations and developing pricing strategies. Ability to prepare detailed cost models and professional proposals.
• Experience using Salesforce and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
• Degree level qualification in relevant field, eg. civil engineering, business, geography, or similar. Post graduate qualification/certification in sustainability, risk management or climate change would be an advantage.
